Geology & Geography
Geology is the study of the Earth, the materials of which it is made, the structure of those materials, and the processes acting upon them.
The nearly pure SiO2 (Quartz) we mine to produce Pro/Angle® was deposited during the The Devonian Period - 416 million to 358 million years ago. We were left with a high purity, durable mineral that produces a sand with unmatched performance.
Silica (silicon dioxide, or SiO2, quartz) is the most common constituent of sand, but finding such incredibly high purity makes our geology unique. Such purity means our sands are free from contaminants such as clay, coal or calcium carbonate which break down to impact drainage, playability and product life span.

I’ve worked for R.W. Sidley for 38 years. During this time I’ve worked in almost every Division of the company. I realized early on I wanted to work in the family business. You get to see projects take shape from planning and start up through completion. It’s very satisfying working with customers while they see their jobs take shape and then completing them as planned. The most satisfying part of the job is helping our customers solve problems when they arise. I get calls almost every day from customers who have run into an issue on their jobsite which they haven’t experienced before. I can generally assist them because of past experiences by coming up with a solution to get them back on track. Every day brings something new! |
