NYC Indoor Dining Capacity to Increase to 50% Effective March 19, 2021
Governor Cuomo has just announced that effective Friday, March 19, 2021, indoor dining capacity may increase to 50%, up from 35%.

This increase in capacity affects traditional indoor dining spaces as well as sidewalk and curb lane seating structures with three or more sides enclosed.

Outdoor structures with at least two sides open are not subject to a capacity limit, but must continue to either space tables 6 feet apart or install barriers between tables that are at least 5 feet tall.

As a reminder, restaurants offering indoor dining must post signage stating the maximum number of patrons that may be indoors at any given time. Starting Friday, March 19, 2021, that signage should be revised to reflect the increased capacity.
