President's Message

Hello WTS Friends & Family,

Well, here it is: my last President’s Message. I have had the honor of serving as your president for the last two years, but my journey with WTS began long before that, and it will continue for years to come. I have enjoyed the last two years and witnessing all that we have accomplished as a chapter.

Some of the amazing things we have done include growing our membership by 25%, adding more than 10 Corporate Partners to our loyal supporters, reviving our Collegiate Mentorship Program, supporting our Student Chapter at UTA, mentoring the young women at Irma L. Rangel Young Women's Leadership School through Transportation YOU, providing over $50,000 in scholarships and celebrating the accomplishments of our award winners.

I have all the confidence in the world that the next two years will be even more amazing! I’ve gotten a sneak peak into what the new board has in store for our chapter. Our Programs Director, George Cisneros, already has a calendar full of awesome programs and events. Madeline Shepherd, Member Services Director, will continue to promote the growth of our chapter and implement strategic initiatives for recruitment and retention. Through our Strategic Partnerships and Major Events, Iskra Rodriguez and her team will cultivate local and national partnerships and organize our two signature fundraising events. Professional Development Director, Kim Sims, will bring opportunities for education and career development to our members. Melanie Cleavelin and her Student Relations Group will continue to meaningfully engage our students through mentoring, Transportation YOU, Student Chapter activities, and scholarship opportunities. Last but not least, Stephanie Manry, Communications Director, and her incredible team will keep you informed through it all. With your Executive Board members Shannon McCord, Stephanie Taylor, Meredith Cebelak, and Jennifer Krips leading the way, the next two years promise to be a lot of FUN!!!

One last time, remember to stay safe, take care of yourself and respect each other. And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
