Head of School Message
Dear SJPDS Families,
At this time annually the Administration and Board of Trustees begin planning for the following academic year. Part of the budgetary process is the determination of next year’s operational and student needs and decisions of how best to meet these needs. Ever-escalating expenditures are met in several ways; nevertheless, SJPDS’s primary source of revenue is tuition. Currently, our tuition covers 88% to 92% (depending in the grade level) of the cost to educate each student. Setting tuition levels is given prayerful thought and careful analysis to balance between affordability, accessibility, and educational excellence. To provide the exceptional education we expect at SJPDS costs rise as we all experience more turbulent economic times. After much deliberation and a thorough study of prudent budgetary requirements, the Board has voted to support a modest 2½% tuition increase for the 2024-25 academic year.
As you know, SJPDS proudly supports optimum teacher-to-student ratios, rigorous educational programs, increasing staff and faculty compensation, and maintaining an impeccable physical plant while attempting to continually set as reasonable a tuition level as possible.
Understanding that our families may face fluctuating markets and/or uncertain times, need-based financial assistance is available to families with children entering Kindergarten-Grade 5. Standing ready to support one another, you are encouraged to apply if you anticipate a need for assistance in the 2024-25 academic year. Please visit SJPDS’s website for further information on affording St. John’s (St. John's Tuition).
Re-enrollment contracts will be available for current families tomorrow, December 15th, and are due no later than January 14th, 2024. Please re-enroll promptly as we are expecting waitlists in most grade levels again next year. All grades will be open to new families beginning January 15th, 2024.
Finally, we would like to share that our Childcare Services for the 2024-2025 school year are live! Please review the descriptions of the services we will provide for next year by clicking HERE and make the best selection for your needs. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Greg Wright at [email protected].
SJPDS is a strong, healthy, resourceful, well-managed, warm, and welcoming community that serves families with love and support daily. With God’s help and the support and determination of our community, we will continue to be a premier academic school of the future.
With a grateful heart for this wonderful community,
Lori Dembo
