The Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) National Network™ is a unique public-private partnership that delivers comprehensive, proven solutions to U.S. manufacturers, fueling growth, and advancing U.S. manufacturing.

The MEP National Network, whose mission is to strengthen and empower U.S. manufacturers, comprises the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP), the 51 MEP Centers located in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, the MEP Advisory Board, MEP Center boards, and the Foundation for Manufacturing Excellence, as well as over 1,400 trusted advisors and experts at approximately 450 MEP service locations, providing any U.S. manufacturer with access to resources they need to succeed.

In 1996, ATN was recognized as the Alabama center for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). ATN's team of experts help address the needs of industry and business through innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions. ATN conducts detailed need assessments, outlines potential solutions based on the assessment results, and provides technical assistance and customized training to help companies solve their problems. ATN continues to represent Alabama as the official MEP center and continues to be a top-performing center.

Jada Freeman, MEP Program Coordinator for ATN explains the value MEP brings to Manufacturers through ATN. "The MEP National Network provides ATN with the capability to reach hundreds of subject matter experts in various areas of manufacturing. This is particularly beneficial when ATN expands its outreach to a new manufacturing sector in the state and we have the National Network to rely on in understanding the challenges and successes of that new sector," states Freeman. "There can also be unique problems that arise in working with manufacturers and having those experts in the National Network is invaluable. With the supply chain issues manufacturers are currently facing, supplier scouting within the National Network has increased and allowed for the reshoring of products."

Over the years, ATN has learned to perfect customer service. We pride ourselves on being a trusted local partner, to implement solutions and innovations for your company, to develop and train employees, and to assess and improve processes in the workforce. Contact ATN today at atninfo@atn.org.

Continual Improvement

Ken Olsen, a famous inventor in the computer industry and Forbes Magazine’s “America’s Most Successful Entrepreneur” in 1986, once wrote, “The nicest thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from.”

Let’s use that to segue into the many Management System “standards” that are in business today. ATN offers help with Quality (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, AS9100, IATF 16949), Environmental (ISO 14001), Safety (ISO 45001), Energy (ISO 50001) and even the RIOS recycling standard. And this is not an exhaustive list. Contact ATN today if you need help with training, auditing or even how to implement your management system to meet these standards.

Industrial Maintenance & Technology

Does your company need help with robotics? If you have a FANUC robot that your employees need to know more about, ATN is the one that can make sure that your employee is comfortable using a FANUC robot.  We will bring portable full functioning FANUC robots to your facility to train your employees. While they are probably smaller than the robot in your plant, they will have the same teach pendant and functions as your FANUC robot. Our class is called FANUC Robotics Programming and Operations and it will make sure that your employee can understand how the robot operates, understand the functions of the teach pendant, how to teach or touch up points, plus a whole lot more. This 32-hour class will be beneficial to any of your employees that work around the FANUC robot.
