Regional Report
Ontario Report
It has been another unpredictable, roller coaster ride in the weather department for much of Ontario this summer. For the most part it has been an average summer however, small, isolated bands of rain have brought wet conditions to some facilities while as little as 20 kilometers away very dry conditions have persisted in other areas. It is now the middle of August and with cooler nights and shorter days upon us hopefully the turf will rejuvenate itself after a long season.
Fall Field Day
Book Your Accommodations at the Sheraton Four Points Winnipeg by August 17 to receive the group rate. Register for the 2022 Fall Field Day taking place on Tuesday, September 20 at Southwood Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will also have the opportunity to play in the 9 hole tournament on Monday, September 19. Registration includes the Welcome to Manitoba event, the CGSA/Toro Reception, the CGSA/Syngenta Awards Dinner and the CGSA seminar sponsored by Bayer.
National Tournaments
As part of the ongoing effort to recognize the role of the superintendent at the golf facility, the CGSA sponsors the National Tournament Program for members that host these prestigious events. Our members are an essential part of the team that ensures that the golf course provides fair and consistent conditions for competition.

CGSA members are eligible for admission privileges to selected golf tournaments subject to conditions imposed by the sponsoring body.

Super Women in Golf
Score Golf recently published an article "Super Women" about the growing sorority among superintendents in Canada, with more women taking charge of turf crews. “Female supers have come so far in being able to share their thoughts and be able to get their seat at the table and be recognized for their efforts,” says Kathryn Wood, CGSA Chief Operating Officer.
