General Conference Update

The long-delayed 2020 General Conference began Tuesday, April 23 as delegates from around the world gathered in Charlotte, NC to begin their work. Let us all pray for God to guide the General Conference’s decisions, for Christ to lead us into the future, and for the Holy Spirit to empower us to go on toward perfection in our love of God and one another. There are multiple ways you can follow along with General Conference, including on the South Georgia Conference Facebook page and the Live Stream of the conference.

We extend Christian love and sympathy to the family of Chip Yates, who passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024. His funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23. Chip's obituary can be found here.

UWF Quiet Disciple Award

The United Women in Faith (formerly the United Methodist Women) have a tradition of recognizing Quiet Disciples in the congregation of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. What is a Quiet Disciple? Someone who regularly finds ways to serve others and the mission of the church without receiving or expecting a lot of public recognition. Think of the person who works behind the scenes. Place this form in the UWF box in the church office or give to a UWF Board Member: Carol Pope, Marilyn Armstrong, Anne McCrary, Leolene Tate, Mary Anne Gaudry, Debbie Heller, or Beth Tripp by April 28, 2024.

Mulberry Book Club - May Meeting

Sunday, May 19 | 10 am | Parlor

We’re switching things up and reading fiction this month in the Mulberry Book Group! Join us on Sunday, May 19 at 10:00 AM in the Parlor as we discuss the beloved classic The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. You may have read this book as a child or teen, either for fun or a school assignment, but as with most books, there is something new to uncover every time you read a story. All ages welcome!

If you haven’t read the book by our next meeting on May 19, it’s completely okay! Please come for the discussion and fellowship. (Note the move from the second Sunday due to the brunch scheduled on May 12.) Purchase the book on Amazon or from your favorite bookseller if you don't already have a copy.

Senior Recognition Sunday - May 12

We will honor our graduates during our 11 am worship through special recognition, participation in the service, and the awarding of scholarships. We will also celebrate our Seniors at a special Second Sunday Brunch.
