Dear GMHS Students and Families,

The storm this week did a number on our school. Besides the major accumulation of snow, our power was knocked out due to snow leaking through a roof top HVAC unit causing overheating and partial power shutdown.
  • The leak covered a large section of the second floor hallway.
  • With the construction fencing, we were unable to access most of our snow removal equipment and our custodians had to make due with shovels and a couple of snow blowers.
  • We want to thank the custodial staff at Dunstan MS who allowed us to use their tractor and provided additional personnel to help us.
  • GMHS has been short between 3-4 of our 7 custodians this year due to staffing shortages in other schools around the district.
  • It really came down to our Facility Manager, Jason Monson (who started in his position at GMHS last week), our Night Head Custodian, Dillon McConkey and our part time custodian, John Cogswell to clear the majority of the snow and prep entrances for a home girls' basketball playoff game on Tuesday evening and be ready for students to return on Wednesday!
  • Power was restored around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
  • Today we had district crews out to remove more snow so hopefully we will have complete access soon.

Hearing & Vision Screening
  • Due to the schedule adjustments this week, we were not able to conduct the Hearing & Vision Screening. So, we will try again.
  • Wed. April 7 and Thursday April 8
  • Through freshmen social studies classes. Students new to Jeffco will be contacted individually.
  • Remote students are invited to come to the school on either day. We are coordinating time in the afternoon on these days and will communication once we confirm times.
  • Questions? Contact Michelle Perdue, Health Aide ([email protected])

"Schools who have had more than one positive case will only be sending this notification letter out once in a two week period. If there are more than one case in a two week period, the numbers will reflect on Jeffco’s Dashboard located here. Dashboard information does lag behind 24-48 hours. If there are 5% or more positive cases in one school in a two week period, there will be additional information sent out to all families with next steps."

Tuesday, April 6, from 12 -1pm, via Zoom
Wednesday, April 14 from 7-8pm via Zoom
Thursday, April 15, from 8-8:30am.

The coaching tool is Values. Our values and principles often compel us to action. Sometimes, however, we say we value something, but our actions don't align. The Values coaching tool will empower you to explore your values; the degree to which you are manifesting them, and how to express them in your relationships with your children.

If you would like to register for this workshop series, please email Culum Walsh your first and last name: [email protected].

Culum Walsh local parenting expert is also offering a free 45 minute consultation to Green Mountain Families. Register here: Free Parent Consultation
