What is MELANOMA?
Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that develops when melanocytes
(the cells that give skin its tan or brown color) start to grow out of control.
Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer!
However, when detected early, it can be effectively treated.
Take these simple steps today to protect your skin:
- Stay out of the sun as much as possible between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- DAILY - use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen, SPF15 or higher
- Apply sunscreen every 2 hours while enjoying outdoor fun!
- Cover up: wear long sleeves, hats & sunglasses.
- Check your own skin regularly for ANY changes.
Not all skin cancers look the same, so PLEASE discuss any skin changes you might find with your primary doctor or dermatologist.
If suspicous,
