March 2024

Thank You!

Your input is being heard

I wanted to express my gratitude for the insightful conversations we’ve had since I’ve stepped into this Young Adults (YA) ministry role at Rockford Reformed. Your feedback and ideas are invaluable, and I’m committed to using them to shape future events.

Additionally… A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the YA game night on the 16th. It was a great evening, and special thanks to the Orvis family for hosting. We look forward to more fun events like this in the future.

Upcoming Events

Bowling

Many of you expressed an interest in bowling on the survey, so let’s roll with it! Join us at Sparta Lanes in Sparta, on Saturday, April 6 at 3pm. We’ll play two games at $5 per game plus $3, individually, for shoe rental. Afterward, those interested can grab some food together at the Garden Patch Restaurant, attached to the alley (view menu - it’s bowling alley food, but a step up from the norm 😀), if that’s something you would like to budget in as well! Please text or email me if you plan to attend.

Bible Study

There’s been a lot of interest in conducting a YA Bible study. I am looking at options for that and hope to be rolling something out this summer.

Additionally, I want to remind you all that if you are looking to engage more with Jesus through prayer and study of the Word, Pastor Tim is hosting a weekly “Word and Prayer” gathering at church on Thursdays from noon to 1pm if anyone is interested and available!

Potential Future Opportunity

CrossCon25 - CROSS CON25 Trailer

We are exploring the idea of attending CrossCon25, a transformative worship conference empowering young adults for global impact, in Jesus’ name. It features speakers like David Platt, John Piper, Trip Lee, and Kevin DeYoung.

Date: January 2-4, 2025 (driving down on January 1)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Current Estimated Cost: $400 (potentially significantly lower with fundraising and alternative lodging options)

If you’re interested, please let me know (don’t worry, being interested is not a for-sure-commitment). The sooner we have a rough estimate of attendees, we can gauge the feasibility of this, plan for it, and potentially reduce costs through fundraising. Please let me know by the end of April!

Additionally, if you have friends who are interested from outside of RRC, we may be able to include them with us at the event's reduced group fee! Have them contact me as well.

Stay tuned for more details.
