2 May 2022 | Chartiers Valley Middle School

Hello Colt Families,

Finally, it is May and hopefully warmer weather!! The countdown to summer has officially started.

Teacher Appreciation Week: May 2-6
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. This is the time when teachers get the extra applause they deserve! Our CVMS staff are amazing and I know they do such special things to support our students. Whether you know a teacher, have a teacher, had a special teacher in the past, please give them extra support. There are endless ways to say thank you to our teachers, support staff, and secretaries. This is our chance this week to show our support. We want to thank our PTSG because every year during this week they do countless fabulous events for our staff and we greatly appreciate them!

PSSA's Continue This Week: Make Sure You Get Rest!
Math: May 3 & 4
Science May 9 & 10 (8th Grade Only)

We are so proud of all of our students! They did a wonderful job during PSSA testing last week. We know by day three it gets hard and exhausting but you all did a wonderful job pushing through and trying your best! We couldn't have had a great first week testing without the support of our families!! Thank you ! We have math testing this week.

Future Goals: Most Valuable Teacher
Thanks to your votes, Mr. Caplan was awarded the Future Goals Most Valuable Teacher for the month of March. Now it is time to vote for the Future Goals Most Valuable Teacher of the Year! This honor includes winning additional prizes for helping bring STEM concepts to life for students in our school community! Mr. Caplan is honored to be one of the three finalists for this recognition.  Mr. Caplan is dedicated to teaching applications for STEM because he know that it not only impacts how healthy and productive students are during this time, but also their well-being and success far beyond the K-12 years.
From May 2 to May 6, students and parents will be able to visit nhl.com/mvt and vote once a day, every day, for their favorite teacher. We hope that you will spread the word and consider voting for Mr. Caplan by May 6!
