New Jersey Council of the Arts (NJSCA). Coronavirus Relief Fund Grants for New Jersey Arts Nonprofits. On April 8, 2021, Governor Phil Murphy signed into law S-3251, which provides $15 million in federal COVID-19 relief aid for arts and culture venues throughout New Jersey. The Coronavirus Relief Fund Grant Program funds will be awarded by the Arts Council as one-time, non-matching grants to eligible nonprofit, arts-missioned organizations. Application Deadline is June 23, 2021 and Council staff will be hosting a series of Open Office Hours to provide technical assistance through June 16, 2021. Learn more here.
Applications are open for NJSCA Artist Fellowships through The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to receive funding to support their work. Categories offered for the 2022 Fellowships are: Digital/Electronic, Film/Video, Painting, Printmaking/Drawing/Book Arts, and Prose. The deadline for 2022 applications is 5:00 PM ET on July 15, 2021. South Jersey Artists Take Note:
Due to the State Arts Council's outreach strategies over the past decade, we consistently receive applications from culturally diverse artists working in a wide range of disciplines from across the state. These efforts have been less successful, however, in reaching artists fully representative of New Jersey's geographic diversity. In an attempt to increase the representation of artists from the Counties from which the number of applications is historically low, the State Arts Council will be offering awards in higher amounts, when possible, for Fellows in the following Counties:
Atlantic, Burlington, Cumberland, Cape May, Camden, Gloucester, Ocean, Salem or Warren. Find out more information and to apply, visit here.
Black Theatre Coalition - BTC Fellowship Grant. Applications are now open for a new fellowship program that aims to end racial inequality across 20 offstage industry groups. Two 12-month fellows will be selected in each of these categories: writing, composition, directing, choreography, set design, lighting design, costume design, sound design, video design, wig and hair design, stage management, theatre management, musical direction, casting, marketing and advertising, public relations, digital media, and talent representation. Six 24-month fellows will be selected for fellowships in producing and general management. Application Deadline is July 16, 2021. Learn more here.
