A sea of advice from our surgeon-partners
Our surgeon-partners have their own private practices, and while some of their services overlap, they all agree on one thing — a well-educated patient tends to enjoy a successful surgical outcome. That is because they have generally done everything they could to prepare themselves for their outpatient joint surgery, and they are diligent in their performing their post-op responsibilities like PT.

To help their patients learn all they can about their conditions, their non-surgical and surgical options, and what to expect after surgery, many of our surgeons host informative blogs, articles, or patient education libraries on their practice websites. We've provided you with links to these resources, pulled out a couple of interesting posts you might enjoy, and encourage you to read up on everything relating to your specific condition.

Our founders, Dr. H. Kurtis Biggs and Dr. Robert Zehr, specialize in hip and knee replacements. Hips and knees are all that Dr. Zehr treats in his solo practice at Zehr Center for Orthopaedics, but the ZCO blog also offers general information on joint health, answering questions like "Why do my joints pop?"

The team at The Joint Replacement Institute — Drs. Biggs, Wallace, Weaver, and Beebe — treat shoulder, elbow, foot and ankle, neck and back pain, in addition to hip and knee pain. You can find blog posts on all of these topics. For example, have you ever heard of retrocalcaneal bursitis? It may be why your heel hurts.

Shoulders are also a specialty of Dr. Steven Goldberg, inventor of the Catalyst CSR Total Shoulder System. One of his blog posts addresses "What you should know about rotator cuff injuries."

Podiatric surgeon Dr. Michael Petrocelli hosts FAQs about common foot ailments on the services section of his Collier Podiatry website and Dr. Chris Calcagni features a complete patient education library on CoastalFootCare.com. Dr. Evgeny Krynetskiy, of Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida, also hosts a patient education library on foot and ankle care and includes an extensive list of links to articles on the topic at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' information website, OrthoInfo.

Upper extremity surgeon Dr. Carmella Fernandez shares several articles discussing injuries and conditions she specializes in, including helpful advice on how to "Stay Safe & Fit This Pickleball Season."
