National Night Out is Back!

On Tuesday, August 3, neighborhoods throughout Burlingame are invited to join forces with thousands of other communities nationwide for the National Night Out crime prevention event. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is co-sponsored locally by the Burlingame Police Department. Over 15,000 communities from all 50 states are expected to participate in this year’s “America’s Night Out Against Crime".

From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., people in neighborhoods throughout Burlingame are asked to turn on their outside lights and spend the evening outdoors with neighbors. Many neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties and cookouts.

If you plan on hosting a neighborhood event and would like members of the Burlingame Police Department to visit, please RSVP to Captain Bob Boll by phone at 650-777-4177, or by email at boll@burlingamepolice.org.

Old Bayshore Highway Corridor Improvements
Survey #2 Open Through July 5

The City is conducting a feasibility study to look at potential roadway improvement designs for Old Bayshore Highway, from the northern city limits to the U.S. 101 northbound ramps. This study will look at improving the access, safety, operations, and aesthetics of Old Bayshore Highway for all modes of transportation (pedestrians, bicycles, vehicles, and transit).

The City has been working with various public and private stakeholders, including business owners, property owners, residents, and City Commissions, to present project context, opportunities, and constraints, as well as to solicit feedback that will determine the community's priorities for the corridor. The second community survey is now underway. The goal is to see how the community feedback has shaped the preliminary alternatives, as well as allow us to refine the design priorities!

By clicking on the link, you can see an overview of the process for the study, as well as provide feedback based on your priorities for the corridor.

If you have any questions after completing the survey, send an email to pwengineering@burlingame.org, and staff will get back to you.
