In 2018, Parliament unanimously passed a bill proclaiming that throughout Canada, the month of May will be marked as Canadian Jewish Heritage Month, celebrating the inspirational role that Jewish Canadians have played and continue to play in communities across the country. From law, to politics, to culture, to sports, this important initiative celebrates the contributions Jewish Canadians have been making to this country for 250 years. Learn more.
Is your fur baby especially photogenic? Calgary Jewish Federation's Jewish Adult Calgary (JAC) is looking for animals of all kinds for our upcoming Nice Jewish Pets calendar campaign. Apply here by Monday, June 7 and show the world what makes your pet so special. Winners and their paw-rents will be notified by June 14 to schedule their professional photo shoot. Yasher Koach to JNF Calgary for their 2021 virtual Negev Gala. Diane Colley-Urquhart was honoured for her dedication to Calgary's Jewish community and her support of Israel and anti-racism initiatives. Funds raised from this year's dinner will support the Trauma Resilience Centre in Sderot, Israel.
