IAWF proudly spotlights conference speaker and organization supporter Judge Tamila E. Ipema for her recent awards. Judge Tamila E. Ipema will be receiving the "Outstanding Jurist Award" from San Diego County Bar Association on May 6, 2016. This award is given to an exemplary jurist who provides outstanding community service above and beyond just service to the legal profession. In addition, Tom Homann LGBT Law Association will be honoring Judge Tamila E. Ipema with the "Friend of the Community Award" on April 14, 2016. Judge Ipema has served as a judicial officer in the State of California for more than ten years. Judge Ipema has worked as an immigration defense attorney, Assistant District Counsel with the U.S. Department of Justice, and as a judicial research attorney and supervising research attorney for the Los Angeles Superior Court. She has also served as a Superior Court Commissioner in both Los Angeles and San Diego prior to her appointment to the San Diego Superior Court in 2009. Judge Ipema serves on the Executive Board of National Association of Women Judges as the Vice President of Districts. Visit her full IAWF profile here.
 
Narges Bajoghli
New York

IAWF member Narges Bajoghli recently received her PhD in socio-cultural and linguistic Anthropology at New York University. In addition, Narges was published in The New York Times Magazine. Her piece titled "Learning to Play by Ear in Iran," tells the story of Ahmad Salimi, a survivor of chemical warfare, and how learning to play music helped him deal with trauma. Since being published, "The Lives Section" of the NYTimes has asked Narges to begin contributing stories from Iran. Narges is also the co-founder of Iranian Alliances Across Borders, which focuses on empowering the young generation of Iranian Americans. Visit her full profile here.

IAWF Circle of 100's member and conference speaker, Lily Sarafan, is the co-founder and CEO of  Home Care Assistance (HCA). Lily's company was recently recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the " Top 50 Fastest Growing Woman-Led Companies." From startup to venture-backed growth company and now, industry champion, HCA has grown to 6,000+ employees across 120 global markets. One of IAWF's newest members of the Circle of 100's, Monir Jalili, President of InstantFigure, Inc., is a successful Iranian American entrepreneur and savvy businesswoman. She has been a well-known figure in the fashion industry since 1985; she has founded companies and built them into multi-million dollar businesses. She has launched, designed, manufactured and operated many businesses, from young contemporary to conservative fashion collections of swimwear, sportswear and evening-wear. IAWF New York Chapter: News
IAWF Member, Nazee Moinian, Moderates Dynamic Panel Discussion
IAWF member and conference speaker Nazee Moinian will be moderating  the upcoming, dynamic panel, "Iran & the Nuclear Agreement: How Well Do We Know What We Know?" on April 18th. The panel will feature Dr. Gary Samore, former White House Coordinator for Arms Control and Weapons of Mass Destruction; Karim Sajadpour, former Chief Iran Analyst at the International Crisis Group; Masih Ali-Nejad, Iranian journalist and activist.  Nazee, a journalist and a PhD candidate, is currently working on her thesis  on Iran's foreign policy and its civil society. Nazee was a special envoy to the  United Nations from 2001-2003. She has also served as a consultant at the Council  on Foreign Relations, where she acted as a liaison between Iranian political figures  and their western counterparts.
