The PTSA publishes a Family Directory every year to help build connections in our community. This is a FREE service for all Madison families. You do not have to be a current PTSA member! The directory will be sent only to families who submit their contact information.
Submissions for the annual Family Directory are due on Friday, October 15.

Racial Equity Team Meeting
|
If you are interested in anti-racism at Madison, please join our Racial Equity Team for our first meeting of the year on Monday, October 18, 4:00-5:00 pm, via Zoom. We offer a space for our community to share experiences and propose racial justice initiatives for our school. We'll have time for connection and conversation about how we can support each other and racial equity this year. Please "come as you are" and participate in whatever way feels right for you.

Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
|
Madison's Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a safe space for all LGBTQIA+ students and their allies to come together, get support, and effect change within our community. Logistics are still being worked out, but we plan to meet during Advisory one day a week. Look out for more information in the morning announcements and the weekly bulletin. Please e-mail Ilana Malone with any questions. We can't wait to meet everyone and come together in person again!

Dental Day
Your student can receive dental care at the Neighborcare Health School-Based Health Center located at Madison Middle School on Friday, October 22. The dental program uses portable equipment and all procedures are performed by our licensed dentists and dental assistants. Any student registered with the Health Center is eligible to receive care. No student will be denied services due to inability to pay.

Picture Retake Day
Madison Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26 for students who were absent and those who ordered a picture packet and are unhappy with their image.
Parents, please remember to send your purchased packet back to school with your students to hand off to the photographer.

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey
Madison 6th and 8th graders will participate in the Healthy Youth Survey in their Science classes on Friday, October 29. The survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students' answers are anonymous. Parents may request their student opt out of the survey by emailing Sue Quigley, 8th grade counselor.

For increased security, the number of characters required for your Source password is changing from 8 to 12 which will require you to change your password. This change is only for parents and guardians; students will not need to change their password.

Join a committee to help SPS publish voters’ pamphlet statements of support or opposition for the 2022 levies. If you are interested in serving on a committee advocating for approval or rejection of either levy, please submit a statement by email, fax or mail. Expressions of interest must be received by the Board Office not later than Friday, October 15.

SPS is partnering with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association to provide flu shot clinics for the public at schools across the city.
