First Grade went to the Denver Nature and Science Museum

It’s time for our annual Spring Carnival - Bones & Tones! This is one of our favorite community events where PTA puts out carnival games, bouncy houses, fun music, and food for purchase as we mingle, have fun, and raise money for the school.

• PRE-ORDER Tickets to avoid a long line! You will pick up your bundle of tickets at the event on Saturday, April 27th.

• We are in need of help to make sure Bones & Tones goes off without a hitch. Can you lend a hand? Perhaps run a game for 30 minutes? Or help serve food? Or maybe you have an item you can donate for our “raffle”? Or perhaps you’re able to stay after to clean up? April is Stress Awareness Month!

CMAS Information for 3rd-5th Grade

Our Stedman 3rd-5th grade students will be taking the annual state assessment, CMAS, beginning on April 8th. Our students have shown strong academic growth this year despite the disruptions of the last few academic years, and we are confident that they will perform well. 

These assessments focus on providing our school information on how well our students are doing on grade-level standards. Teachers will use this information to determine how we can better meet the needs of our students. Our 3rd-5th grade students will take the English Language Arts and Math assessments. Fifth graders will also take the CMAS Science assessment. 

While this has been a year of transitions for us, we are hyper-focused on our students' academic and social success. We continue to adapt instructional spaces and make necessary changes to foster greater learning and educational outcomes. We have already seen tremendous growth and anticipate much more to come. We are proud of the work that our students and staff are undertaking, and we plan to crush the Colorado Measure of Academic Success (CMAS) exam. 

Families - please mark your calendar for this year's CMAS dates. We hope that families can plan around these dates and avoid scheduled absences or appointments if possible.

Nuestros estudiantes de 3.° a 5.° grado de Stedman tomarán la evaluación estatal anual, CMAS, a partir del 8 de abril. Nuestros estudiantes han mostrado un fuerte crecimiento académico este año a pesar de la incertidumbre de los últimos tres años académicos y estamos seguros de que tendrán un buen desempeño.

Estas evaluaciones se enfocan en proporcionar información a nuestra escuela sobre qué tan bien se están desempeñando nuestros estudiantes en los estándares de nivel de grado. CDC Essentials for Parenting Teens!

Essentials for Parenting Teens is a free online resource for parents and caregivers of youth between the ages of 11 and 17. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reviewed extensive research to identify the best approaches to parenting teens and talked to the experts—both recognized leaders in the parenting field and parents themselves—to create articles, videos, and activities parents and caregivers can use.

LOST & FOUND

Please be sure to stop by the Lost & Found regularly. We will begin donating items at the END OF EVERY MONTH. There are MANY items in lost and found, from clothing to jackets to water bottles. Visit the Lost & Found near the gym.

If you receive Longmont Dairy products, please save your caps and bring them to the school. We receive 5 cents per cap, which adds up! You can feed your caps to Betsy, our new bin for collecting the caps. Besty will be located in the school, please ask the front office where she is if you do not see her near the main doors. This is a simple and easy way to raise money for PTA.
