Vaccine Clinic
Bishop Manogue will be hosting a completely optional vaccine clinic!
Students must have a parent or guardian with them in order to get vaccinated, and parents and guardians (or siblings) are also welcome to come and get the free vaccine. BMCHS will not allow any student whose parent is not present to get vaccinated.

Click this link to sign up for an appointment. Once you reach the appointment availability, you will need to check the box for "Do you have an event code?" and enter Man123. You will fill in a zip code and type in 5/13/2021 into the "start search on" box and enter. The timeslots for that day at Manogue will then be ready to select. You may also walk in without an appointment.

The clinic will be open again on June 4 for the second dose.

See informational pamphlets about the vaccine below:

For Students
Senior Slideshow Photo Submissions: Due Monday, May 17

This is the LAST CALL for all senior slideshow photo submissions. No more than three photos per graduate. All photos must be submitted to the email address: seniorphotos@bishopmanogue.org
Senior College Shirt Pictures Needed

Student Council will be collecting pictures of seniors wearing a shirt of the college they are planning to attend! If you do not have a shirt, you can use a sign or other creative way to showcase your college. Then we will have a weekly Instagram post (@manoguespirit) highlighting several seniors and celebrating their college plans!

You can email the picture directly to Shelly Gamble (shelly.gamble@bishopmanogue.org).

We are hoping to get pictures as soon as possible so we can start to highlight students, but this will be ongoing through the rest of the school year, so please send them in when you can!

COVID Protocol, Vaccines, and Upcoming Events - FAQ

My student is vaccinated. Does that mean he/she is excluded due to close contact?
If a student has had both doses of vaccine and it has been at least 14 days from the final dose, he or she will not be required to be excluded from on-campus events. If your student has received their vaccination and you would like the school to have it on record, please contact Mrs. Haeberlin-Cope: Sarah.Haeberlin-Cope@bishopmanogue.org

Will BMCHS be offering a vaccine clinic?
Yes. In coordination with the Diocese, Bishop Manogue is working to offer a vaccination event to those who are interested and eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Find details at the top of the Wire.

My student has already tested positive for COVID-19, do they still need to be excluded?
If your student has received a positive laboratory-issued PCR COVID-19 test within the past 90 days (and after they have completed the initial exclusion), they will not be excluded from on-campus events. Unfortunately, if your student has had COVID-19 and it has been over 90 days, they can still be excluded as a close contact. As a reminder, at-home COVID-19 test results do not count as a viable proof of test.

Is there going to be a prom?
Prom for Seniors and Juniors is scheduled for May 22, 2021. Please note that no guests from schools other than Bishop Manogue are permitted to attend. Specific details are to follow.

Parent Service Hours Provided for Facilities Projects

For parents that are still in need of service hours to complete the hours carried over from 19-20, Facilities Director Garth Wilson has several projects available. The hours available would consist of all outside work: parking lot and fence line clean up, pulling weeds in designated areas, and outside painting. Times available are Mon-Friday 7:00-4:00 and Saturdays 7:00-2:00.  Please contact Bonnie Hansen at 775-336-600 or email her at bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org for scheduling and details.

All prior year service hours will become due and payable on May 21st.
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  eldaj@catholicreno.org  to be removed from the update list.

To submit news for the Wire, fill out this form. Submissions must be received by the Thursday morning prior to Sunday publication. Notable headlines submitted after Thursday morning may not appear in the Wire until a later publication.
