MESSAGE FROM JIMMY

1. Laugh Today. Debbie and I enjoy watching comedy specials on Netflix, especially when we need a break from the grind. We try to always pick ones that are PG and family-friendly. One guy that we love is The Tennessee Kid, Nate Bargatze. Here are 14 minutes for you…

2. Worship. Here is a great worship tune to savor in the car or the earbuds this week. Tom and Katey Cole brought us into the Lord’s presence this past Sunday at Connections with this song. Remember: when we put our faith in Jesus, he won’t fail us. Christ is our firm foundation!

3. Church Meetings. I spend a lot of time in church meetings as a pastor. I did the quick math a few minutes ago and realized that I have spent nearly 1,000 hours in just local church meetings. That is 41.6 days! This past Sunday our Ministry Council met for an important meeting to update our congregation on timeline changes the Conference Trustees made to their closure process. You should have received an email or letter this week from Les Howell and Randy Bledsoe with some important information about this meeting.

This week in worship…

“When Chains are Broken”

Mark 5:1-20

This story grips our imagination from the beginning as Jesus takes his ministry into the throws of enemy territory. A man who is held in bondage for years and ostracized by his community becomes the touchpoint of Jesus’ compassion and deliverance.

See you Sunday!

Jimmy

YOU'RE INVITED!

You're invited to a time of conversation and fellowship at an upcoming “Chat and Chew 2.0 with Bishop Lewis" coming to a church near you. In 2023, clergy and laity were invited to join the Bishop at the Chat and Chews so that we could get to know her. This time around, beginning in January 2024, she wants to get to know us. Simply click on the image to the right and watch a video to learn more details.

Please note, we are hosting a Chat and Chew on Saturday February 17, 10:00-12:30 PM.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

CALLING ALL THE MOMS

Hello there! My name is Melanie Sistrunk and I attend the Connections service here at the church. I was searching for a group to meet moms and I found MOMS Club of Madison County. In the last two years of being in that group, I have found so many mom friends, gone to the local museums, participated in community service projects, gone to parks, had holiday parties, and so much more. Now I am bringing this club to Clinton. We are a non-profit club to support all moms as we navigate motherhood! On January 26th from 9-11 and 2-4 is an open house to learn more.

Contact Melanie at 219-775-5139 for the address and more details.
