Respite and Employment Services
As we come to the end of a school year, many parents of children with disabilities are left to wonder what are the next steps in transitioning my child into the future.
There are steps that can be taken and places that to get help.
One of the first steps is to work towards getting a waiver started with a case manager. Several different organizations provide this service
Waivers can take time to receive and there are places that you can start through private pay, such as day services and some personal care if they are at an age that they transition out of schooling.
There are organizations withinformation on what steps parent can take to make sure that transitioning your child is as smooth as possible. One of the best resources is the Disabilities Coalition web site, that can link you to many different resources.
