Dear TCCA Families,
As we walk these last few days of the semester together I am reminded of all that we have accomplished, the ways we have grown, and the challenges we have overcome. Our staff, scholars, and families deserve the rest that is to come as we celebrate the holidays. It is my prayer that this season brings you joy, hope, and peace.
I recently learned of a Christmas Eve tradition practiced in Iceland, where family members exchange books as gifts and spend the evening reading and drinking hot chocolate. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? I encourage you to spend some time reading together as a family. Books like A Christmas Carol, the Velveteen Rabbit, or The Night Before Christmas are a perfect place to start. As you do, talk to your children about the virtues found in each of the characters and how they can apply a specific virtue to their own lives.
The new year will bring the turning of a new page in our lives together as a school family. Let’s look forward to that time with anticipation. Think about this quote by Benjamin Franklin as we approach the new year and new semester. “Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man.” Parents and scholars, I look forward to continuing to serve you as we grow in virtue together.
