Kids Lead Worship Sunday Morning at 10:30 a.m.
in the Sanctuary or Live on YouTube or Facebook
The kids climbed aboard for mountains of fun at Rocky Railway! On this faith-filled adventure, Ella Baugher, Corinne Colbert, Owen Highfield, Ava Jackon, Ben Peterman, Naomi Pegram, Gray Pegram, Sydney Penley, Adam Pike, Lee Pike, Savannah Weber, Michaela Weber, Annabelle Weber, Alivia Wilton and Austyn Wilton discovered that trusting Jesus pulls them through life's ups and downs.
Plan to Worship with Them Sunday and Support their Special Offering
Donations for Operation Kid to Kid help provide life-changing livestock to Ecuadorian families. Offerings will be received during worship on Sunday. Adding an alpaca to a family farm in Ecuador not only transforms the fate of the family but also helps provide jobs and resources to the entire community!

Sunday Schedule beginning July 4, 2021:
Worship and Education Teams
Elders Announce plans for Summer Worship
Sundays in July and August
9:00 a.m. Fellowship Class
All are invited. No other classes will meet.
10:00 a.m. Sanctuary / Live Stream Worship
Children Worship & Wonder will meet.
Indoor Worship Plans
- We will have worship in the sanctuary. This may be shifted outside during the summer if needed by the Church on the Hill Restoration project.
- We ask those not vaccinated to wear masks as directed by the CDC. We ask those feeling ill not to come but to instead join us online. Anyone wishing to wear a mask will be welcome to do so.
- We returned the hymnals to the pews along with envelopes, pencils etc.
- We will offer printed bulletins starting on July 4. We will be emailing a .pdf of the bulletin during the week for those people watching the services online. The bulletin will not contain the words to the songs and hymns. Instead we will project them in the sanctuary and our live stream folks will be able to see them during the broadcast. People in the sanctuary can use the hymnal or read the words on the screen.
- We will have the diaconate serve as a welcome team to receive offerings and hand out communion as you enter the sanctuary.
- Regular Sunday School resumes on September 5th.

Win the Day: Stress Less and Accomplish More!
Sermon Series...continues through July 18th.
Crazy Happy: Experiencing a Joy Filled Life
Sermon Series starts August 1st.
Dissatisfied with your life? Yeah, most of us have been there. There's no shame in wanting to be happy, but real satisfaction often eludes us. At best, what fleeting happiness we find tends to dribble away in never-ending debts, stressful deadlines, and mindless scrolling. At worst, it's chased away by anxiety, depression, or fallout from our selfishness. Here's the truth: whether we hunt for happiness in parties, bars, the workplace hustle, or even in church pews, we'll wind up shortchanged. Why? Because we don't see our lives as beautiful. But God wants something better for you--happiness so real this world might think it's too good to be true. In August we want to change all that with a talk about being Crazy Happy. This sermon series is designed to help connect you to the beautifully happy and joy-filled life God has for you. It is my sincere hope that everyone at Slash Church will get Crazy Happy and experience the transformative life in Christ that the bible promises.

Splinters from the Board
David Bremner, Moderator
Next Board Meeting:
Sunday, July 18 @ 11:00 a.m.
Good News! Church Investment funds have been received by the Christian Church Foundation (CCF) after our General Board affirmed the recommendation of the Investment Committee on Wednesday, July 23rd. This begins our official working relationship with CCF to help fund the ministries of Slash Church by growing our Investments and sending funds annually back to Slash for ministry.
Thank you so much to our Board Members for coming to a special called Board Meeting to share their time and input to help build the Kingdom on earth through the ministries of Slash Christian Church! Thank you as well to the Investment Team, Rev. Michael and Kathleen for helping to initiate and implement this new and improved way to manage the church's funds!
Lastly, special thanks to Reggie Martin for carefully calculating and verifying fund amounts and doing all the paperwork required for the successful transfer of monies. His dedication to the project is priceless!
In His Love, Dave Bremner

SLASH BEGINS OFFICIAL RECYCLING EFFORTS!
Dear Slash,
In the Christian Church, we have an amazing program called Green Chalice, through which congregations make changes to better care for the Earth. I am working on earning my Girl Scout Gold Award, where I, along with the help of many other members of Slash Christian Church, am working to help Slash become a Green Chalice congregation.
We have already begun this process by:
- Planting a new garden for pollinators by the pavilion
- Modernizing and upgrading our heating and cooling
- Installing LED lights
- Lessening the use of Styrofoam for Fellowship Café and church meals and more!
These initiatives are not only helping reduce our environmental impact, but are saving Slash money!
I hope that you all will help me continue the process of Slash becoming a Green Chalice church by contributing to a new recycling program. To kick this off, we will need nine recycling bins. I have put together an Amazon Wishlist with the different bins we will need in order to have one in each area of our respective buildings. We must care for God's creation as best we can, and I am so excited to set this up!
If you are able, please purchase one of these recycling bins.
Thank you,
Ruthie Weeks
