A 5-Star Accredited Chamber of Commerce
February 15, 2022
February is Black History Month

In keeping with this year’s theme for Black History Month- Health and Wellness – we bring you a forefather in the understanding and treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease: Dr. Solomon Cater Fuller

Dr. Fuller was one of five research assistants selected by Alois Alzheimer to work in his laboratory at the Royal Psychiatric Hospital in Munich, an experience that arguably paved the way for trailblazing research in Alzheimer's disease.

His seminal work came in 1912 when he published, in two parts, the first comprehensive review of Alzheimer's disease at the time.

Creating Optimism:
The Power of Resilience

Wednesday, February 16th, Noon - 1 p.m.
LifeSouth Community Blood Center
2nd Floor Conference Room
1221 NW 13th Street
Gainesville, FL 32601

Everybody needs it, some already have it, and using it makes a world of difference in a post pandemic world. Cultivating optimism and resilience is about acknowledging the past with all its challenges, while creating a mindset open to opportunities and growth. We all know Einstein’s definition of insanity, doing things the same old way and expecting different results. And post pandemic growth revolves around giving employees tools to foster confidence, handle setbacks and provide an environment with strategies to nurture optimism and sharpen risk-taking prowess.

MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT
Florida Athletics Partners with NIL Vendor INFLCR

The Florida athletic program, in conjunction with INFLCR, has launched Gators NIL Exchange, which will allow athletes and businesses to connect directly. This streamlined, easy to navigate platform, is a free service to both the athletes and third parties and serves as a directory to connect businesses, donors, alumni and collectives with athletes and explore Name, Image and Likeness opportunities.

After a business, collective, or individual registers on Gators NIL Exchange, they can access a searchable data base of Gator athletes, and filter that data base through a variety of criteria. They can message the athlete directly in the application or request the contact information to start a discussion about a NIL transaction. INFLCR and Florida will not be involved in any of the negotiations.
