Truly my soul finds rest in God;

    my salvation comes from him.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation;

    he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

-Psalm 62:1-2-

“Help Wanted” signs are seen throughout America.  Restaurants, grocery stores, specialty stores, and movie theaters, it doesn’t matter the business, employers are longing for workers to serve customers at their establishments throughout the country.  People are applying, then not showing up for the interviews.  Worse yet, people are getting hired, then not showing up for work in order to cash in on programs designed to help those really in need.  (That is a topic for another discussion). The bottom line is business owners just want help, so they place ads online, in the newspapers, and even in their windows.  The sign says it all, “HELP WANTED.”

Do you want help? Think about it for a moment.

When we recite the Apostle’s Creed together we declare in unison,

“I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord  . . .

This week, in the first chapter of Mark, we witness Jesus teaching, casting out demons, and healing many.  Why?  Because he wants to!  Jesus reigns and rules not only this world but the spiritual world as well.  Our Lord is the only One who can and does truly help.

I have a question for you this Wednesday …. Do you want help from the Lord Almighty?  Do you think He can help you?  Do you want to find rest in Him?  The Psalmist did and when he sought help, he found rest for his soul in God.  So can you.

See you Sunday, we continue our series,  UNSHAKABLE  and I can’t wait!

Pastor Austin

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. - Psalm 121:2

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
