9th Women's Leadership Conference was held in New York City on
Over 400 people from all over the nation gathered at NYU Law School's Tishman Auditorium to engage in an insightful, inspiring conference dedicated to empowering Iranian American women leaders. The conference was filled with wisdom from our moderators and powerful stories from our speakers. Between sessions, we acknowledged the contribution of our community's sponsors, previewed the updated and new IAWF website, and paid respects to the Iranian women who blazed the trail before us.
Facilitated by the graceful Master of Ceremonies, Asieh Namdar, the conference touched upon narratives of struggle, overcoming adversity, and triumph. Each session spoke to the paths our diverse speakers and moderators sought to navigate their lives and accomplish their goals.
Attendees were moved by keynote speaker Parisa Khosravi, former Senior Vice President of international and domestic newsgathering for CNN, as she graciously exchanged education and inspiration about her narrative of how to find the courage to follow your dream.
Sessions dedicated to providing insight on defining your path to success, breaking taboos, celebrating rising stars, being the author of your own story, achieving success as Iranian-American women in media, and leading like a woman left guests inspired and renewed to pursue their own success stories.

As their second collaboration, Roya Khadjavi-Heidari and Massoud Nader are pleased to present multidisciplinary works by Nasser Bakhshi, Babak Bidarian and Jason Noushin in a group show titled "Between Invitation and Intrusion: A Conversation in Form". The exhibit
aims to interfere with common understanding and expectations of portraiture. Roya is an independent Art and Design Consultant who has a history of spearheading successful strategic plans, business development, and marketing initiatives for leading fashion, art, education, and non-profit institutions. She explains the concept of the work and its natural depth as such:
"Instead of being overt in their representation, the works in the show explore the theme of identity all while maintaining a degree of mysticism. The artists have succeeded at tempting the viewer into exploring that which is being depicted while also making them uneasy with doing exactly so. The audience is meant to feel that their gaze is infringing on what is being shown. It is there that they find themselves between invitation and intrusion."
