   Access

In this computerized world of digital technology, automation, Bluetooth, social media, streaming.etc., our access to information is immense. But in order to have access to certain information like bank accounts, private investment, facebook, Instagram accounts, or individual records that hold information that is not to be public, we have to have a personal  access code/password to get through to the information we are seeking.

As I was reading through scripture this week (Romans 5:1-5) I ran across the word “access”. I couldn’t get past the comparison of our worldly access, which we hold so dear, and submit to daily, in comparison to the access we have to our Almighty God. Even though HIS word and his whispers are always available to access without a passcode, how often do I search the scriptures or seek prayer for information, consolation, wisdom, guidance and clarity?

I know it is never enough; for far too many times I seek worldly influence and am subject to let my thoughts be compromised by opinions of others instead of faithfully trusting in the ultimate source of love and truth, God. It is Jesus Christ who has made way for our access to the glorious riches that God our heavenly Father offers.

And the riches begin with acceptance that God loves us so much that he has promised that we will never be stranded and alone! For he first sent his son to live and die and rise on our behalf thus giving us full forgiveness of our sins and has given us the path to everlasting life.  God is our comforter, our helper, our wise counselor and everlasting LORD.

How many times do we go to our phones and computers for access to information?  We expect immediate gratification through answers that pop up in response to our requests.  I have found through life experiences, as I am sure you have too, that God doesn’t work that way. We pray, God listens, and then he answers us in HIS timing, depending on what HIS goal is for the life he has given us, and the direction he wants us to take. God’s grace and mercy upon us is propelled only by his unconditional abounding love….al of which we are undeserving of but because of Christ we have been given. How blessed are we!

The deal is we have access to the only true King of Kings, and we are invited to enter into his presence at any moment for any reason or any request.  And as we enter, we must do so in faith, a sold-out faith, believing that God never wastes any circumstance that he has allowed to come before us.  He is using whatever trial we may encounter to grow us, sustain us, strengthen us and establish a f aith within us that has no bounds.

For God has no Bounds!

So when troubles, grief, successes, fears, insecurities hardships, or joys come barreling your way, take advantage of your ACCESS to God. Talk to him, thank him, trust him, praise him first. Then just talk to God as you would with your best friend. Be painfully honest and transparent, and submit your prayers without hesitation, God already knows what is on your heart but composing your thoughts through prayer often times helps you better identify what you think you need.  And sometimes, as I often do, you may find that what you think you want or need is overruled by what God knows you need…. And as he responds, those are the answers to our prayers.

Romans 5: 1-5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Oh Lord, help us to remember that you are always available to help us navigate life through all the twists and turns and unexpected events.  For you have given us access to your Holy Place through Christ Jesus and made available to us the Holy Spirit to help nudge us and guide us to do your will and faithfully lean on you for your grace and mercy daily.  Amen

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
