Cash Lottery Raffle
With hope in the air for some championship runs by our spring sports teams and individuals, the Trinity Athletic Association thought it was a great time to give away some money! The TAA is sponsoring a Lottery Raffle during the month of June with a cash prize of between $50 and FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS every day! Winning tickets will be returned to the pot; so a single ticket can win multiple times! See the calendar here.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in the Main Office or through any spring student-athlete, spring sport coach, or team parent. Tickets can also be obtained by contacting Mrs. Tricia Kuntzelman at (717) 379-7446 or Mrs. LeAnne Torchia (717) 448-7580. The money raised will be used to fund the purchase of new equipment and video capabilities on COBO Field. Thank you, as always, for supporting Trinity and the Athletic Association. GO ROCKS!

Graduation Information
As graduation draws closer, please find details here about the upcoming events and practices. All seniors must be present at the practices after their last tests at 9:20 a.m. Students with special parts must also attend their practices, which are noted on the schedule.

Caps and gowns will be distributed to seniors without debts on Friday, May 14. Please hang and press them if necessary. Girls will need to attach the white collar to their gowns (find an instructional video here). Girls should wear a dress or dress pants, as well as appropriate shoes (not sneakers) to these events. Boys should wear a dress shirt and tie, long pants, and appropriate shoes (not sneakers). Students should wear their gowns only to Baccalaureate; caps and gowns should be worn to Graduation.

Siblings of seniors can usher for Graduation by contacting Sister Susan (this would allow them to be present for the ceremony).

Named Scholarships
Named scholarships help provide support for the 40% of students who come to Trinity and need financial aid. Below, you can find more information on this important scholarship fund. Please reach out to the Advancement Office with questions.
  • An individual, company, or organization may establish a Named Scholarship with a designated annual contribution of at least $500.
  • Donors may choose to name the scholarship (e.g., to honor others in any way).
  • Named Scholarships are typically awarded to students who have demonstrated financial need through the Diocese of Harrisburg and Trinity High School's FACTS Grant and Aid Application process. Recipients of funds are confidential.
  • The Named Scholarship commitment is for one academic year. Renewal letters are mailed annually in the spring.

Excellence in Teaching Award
Each year at graduation, Trinity honors a teacher who has demonstrated "excellence" during the year, which is further described in the nomination form. We welcome nominations from students, parents, and teachers for the award by Monday, May 10.

Parents of Juniors: Medical Information

Please review your student's immunization records and have your primary care provider take appropriate action. Please send a copy of your student's updated immunization record to the Main Office, Attn: "School Nurse."

Spiritual Reflections
from Deacon Scott Root
The Gospel for Sunday, May 9, 2021--6th Sunday of Easter
Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another."--John 15:9-17

Reflection
Love one another. Jesus tells his friends to love one another. In another part of the Scripture, he tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves, and then he helps us to see that our neighbor is everyone we encounter. Each day, we encounter many different people, but do we treat them with love? Do we respect the Christ that is found in them? Jesus calls his disciples his friends because they have learned from him and do what he commands. Does Jesus call us friend? Do we do what he commands? In our world of diversity of thought and action, do we still love or do we allow issues and circumstance to divide? Jesus' statement is simple. Love one another. There are no caveats to this commandment. We are to love one another as Jesus loved us--to the point of real, and total self-sacrifice. May Jesus give us the hearts we need to love one another.
Saint of the Week--Our Lady of Fatima, May 13
Between May 13 and October 13, 1917, three Portuguese children–Francisco and Jacinta Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos–received apparitions of Our Lady at Cova da Iria near Fatima, a city 110 miles north of Lisbon. Mary asked the children to pray the rosary for world peace, for the end of World War I, for sinners, and for the conversion of Russia.

Mary gave the children three secrets. Following the deaths of Francisco and Jacinta in 1919 and 1920 respectively, Lucia revealed the first secret in 1927. It concerned devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The second secret was a vision of hell. When Lucia grew up she became a Carmelite nun and died in 2005 at the age of 97.

Pope John Paul II directed the Holy See's Secretary of State to reveal the third secret in 2000; it spoke of a "bishop in white" who was shot by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows into him. Many people linked this vision to the assassination attempt against Pope John Paul II in St. Peter's Square on May 13, 1981.

The feast of Our Lady of Fatima was approved by the local bishop in 1930; it was added to the Church's worldwide calendar in 2002.

Prayer in Gratitude of Mothers
Good and Gentle God, we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings. Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly. Give them the faithful support of husband, family, and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children. Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood. Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most.
