Arts In Action Arts Education Grant Program
If you're a local teaching artist or nonprofit organization with an arts education focus, this grant opportunity is for you! Arts In Action Arts Education grants are designed to support arts education projects, classes, and workshops that take place in-school, after school, or in local community settings for the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic school year. SUMMER CAMP 2022 PROPOSALS
Teaching Artists Wanted in Howard County
The Howard County Arts Council seeks applicants for teaching artist positions and proposals for its 2022 summer camps. Proposals are now being accepted for nine weeks of week-long morning and afternoon visual & performing arts camp sessions from June 27–August 26, 2022. Qualified individuals are invited to submit proposals for youth camp sessions (ages 5-12) in any performing or visual arts discipline. Motor House is excited to receive submissions for its 2022 gallery season. The Motor House Gallery introduces visitors to the visual artwork of Baltimore's bold and vibrant artistic community. POETRY OUT LOUD COMPETITION
Bringing Poetry to Life Through Performance
Poetry Out Loud (POL) is a literary arts program created by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the Poetry Foundation that is open to all high school students. Since 2005, nearly 4.7 million students have competed in POL nationwide. In Maryland, approximately 129,000 students have participated in the program, learning the power of poetry firsthand. To apply for the 2021-22 virtual competition, click on the button below to learn more. On Thursday, November 4, from 4:00–5:00 p.m., join Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) Arts in Education staff for an informational webinar to learn more about Poetry Out Loud, the virtual competition structure this year, and resources for teachers, students, parents, and organizations. APPLY FOR THE HOPPER PRIZE
Unrestricted Financial Support for Visual Artists
The Hopper Prize was established to increase recognition of the work of visual artists and advance the careers of those individuals by providing them with unrestricted financial support. In this grant cycle, grants of $3,500 will be awarded to two artists, and $1,000 will be awarded to four artists. Hopper curators will also select a short list of 60 artists to have their work archived alongside grant winners. These portfolio presentations function as a growing resource for curators, gallery owners, collectors, and arts patrons. For program details and to apply, click the button below. Scholastic Awards Open for Entry
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 712. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards look for work demonstrating originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. PERFORMING ARTIST TOURING ROSTER
Another Opportunity From Our Friends at MSAC
The Maryland Performing Artist Touring Roster is a list of juried Maryland-based artists who have a demonstrated history of successful, professional touring engagements. Benefits of being listed on the roster include opportunities to receive bookings/artist fees through the Maryland Touring Grant and MSAC promotion. Applications for the Touring Roster are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed monthly. For details, click below.
2022 BAKER ARTIST AWARDS
Submissions Are Now Open
The Baker Artist Portfolios were created to support artists and promote Greater Baltimore as a strong creative community. The portfolios and associated awards were established by the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund and are a program of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance.

The online portfolios are open to artists working in all disciplines who live and work in Baltimore City and its five surrounding counties. The portfolios expose area artists’ work to regional, national, and international audiences. The program serves artists of all disciplines.

In order to respond to the needs of artists who have been severely impacted by COVID 19, the entire awards process for the 2021 season has been reconfigured. This year, 36 artists will receive $2,500 awards. For more information, click below. The deadline is Saturday, January 22, 2022.
