Dear friends,
In the upcoming episode of our podcast, Climate Changed, which will be released next week, organizational consultant Margaret Wheatley and author and educator Debra Rienstra both speak of the importance of connecting in our particular localities — forming islands of sanity (Wheatley) and refugia (Rienstra), communities of connection and reliance which support us when things are most challenging. We are all a part of ecosystems of care, and we fortify ourselves and one another by cultivating relationships with those around us.
For The BTS Center, collaboration is a core tenet of so much of what we do. Our relationships allow us to bring you so many programs with such varied and talented facilitators. As we lean into the winter and spring (and even summer!) seasons, the collaborative programming we have to offer is truly exciting to us — and we hope to you, also.
There is still time to register for our EcoSpiritual Leaders course with Kimberly Knight — a wonderful opportunity to delve deeply into what ecologically grounded spiritual leadership looks like in this moment. You can also sign up for one of our Chaplaincy Conversation Circles, accompanied by a stellar team of facilitators, or participate in one of our Group Spiritual Direction Circles, as we begin our next cohort in March. We're also pleased to bring you another Lament with Earth gathering in February, in collaboration with The Many and Creation Care Alliance, as well as a film discussion with Lutherans Restoring Creation and One Home One Future.
This summer, we're thrilled to be offering a Climate Justice Camp, a brand new opportunity for teens, in partnership with Pilgrim Lodge on beautiful Lake Cobbosseecontee in West Gardiner, Maine. Registration is now open, so please spread the word to any high schoolers you know, including those who will graduate this spring!
We wish you connection and collaboration in your own lives this winter, and we hope to see you at some of our programs soon.
With best wishes,
