The theme for this year's campaign is "Safer You. Safer Me." It is meant to emphasize that the decisions drivers make not only affect them, but also their passengers, other drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Canada Road Safety Week is an enforcement-driven initiative led by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), and more specifically by the CACP’s Traffic Safety Committee. It is designed to increase public compliance with safe driving measures in order to save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
This road safety awareness campaign is part of the broader Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025, which aims to make Canada's roads the safest in the world. To this end, the campaign is focused on behaviours that put drivers, passengers, pedestrians and other vulnerable road users most at risk:

  • drug-impaired driving
  • alcohol-impaired driving
  • fatigue-impaired driving
  • distracted driving
  • aggressive driving
  • driving without a seatbelt

We encourage citizens in the Mulmur community to adopt safe driving practices all your long!
With the nice weather finally approaching many can't wait to enjoy some outside activities. Please be respectful of your neighbours and note that fireworks are permitted only on Victoria Day and Canada Day before 11pm.

Make yourself aware of the rules. Do not burn during a fire ban and make sure to review the burning by-law on our website.

Headwaters marks 25 years at Rolling Hills Site
Headwaters Health Care Centre celebrated its 25th anniversary on May 3, marking the hospital’s time at its site on Rolling Hills Drive.

Native tree and shrub seedlings available at Arbour Day Tree Sale
The trees are bare root stock, and are sold in bundles of 10 for $30 per bundle. This year's sale features a variety native of trees and shrubs, including: White and red pine, Norway and white spruce, white cedar, European larch, silver maple, nannyberry, American highbush cranberry, sugar maple, red oak, black walnut and sycamore. Quantities are limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
All proceeds from the event support NVCA's forestry program. This year, the forestry program will see more than 120,000 trees planted across the watershed. These future forests will help to moderate the effects of both drought and flooding, reduce soil erosion, provide habitat for wildlife and mitigate climate change. They are also an important economic resource.
The Tiffin Centre for Conservation is located at 8195 8th Line of Essa, 10 minutes away from Angus. For more information on the Arbour Day Tree Sale, visit nvca.on.ca or call 705-424-1479.
Increasing Access to High-Speed Internet in Dufferin County
As part of the Ontario government’s plan to connect every community in the province to high-speed internet by 2025, the government is making significant investment to build new broadband infrastructure in Dufferin County.

MPP Sylvia Jones and Perth Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece, Parliamentary Assistant to Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs met recently in Mansfield for a SWIFT announcement.

Joining the MPPs were Milton MP Adam van Koeverden, Bell Representative Simon Dwyer, Township of Mulmur Mayor Janet Horner, Dufferin County Warden Wade Mills and Township of Amaranth Deputy Mayor Chris Gerrits.

In partnership with Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) Inc., construction has commenced on a broadband network that will soon support fast, reliable high speed internet to more than 640 homes, businesses and farms in the communities of Redickville, Honeywood, Black Bank, Ruskview, Terra Nova, Kilgorie, Horning’s Mills, Whitfield and Springwater Lakes by November 2022.

This phase will be another major step forward in connecting rural residents and their communities to modern high-speed internet. Good internet access is a gateway to growth and this recent expansion gives people improved access they didn’t have before.
