MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Our March Member Spotlight is Tomorrow’s Promise Montessori School. Head of School Kaye Boehning shared, “God keeps his promises,” reads a Noah’s Ark decoration that’s been a fixture at Tomorrow’s Promise’s Montessori School's original campus since its opening in 1997. Now, a similar piece serendipitously gifted to Kaye Boehning hangs in the walkway of the school’s new second location, Tomorrow's Promise Children's House.
When I first moved to town, I thought that Children's House was a Montessori School since a lot of Montessori Schools are named after the first school, Casa dei Bambini—Italian for “Children's House.” Now 25 years later I am able to make it a Montessori School.” “Montessori is the only educational method that was founded by a doctor using the scientific method for what was best for the child. It is the only system that starts from the senses instead of the intellect, developing the senses as an aid to intellectual development. (Aristotle said, “There is nothing in the mind that was not first in the hand.”) A Montessori education is the only educational system that celebrates movement, makes observation of the child an integral component of the teaching process, and is built on the power of choice and how that power is developed and refined. It is the only method that functions because of "grace and courtesy" (good manners, consideration for others and cooperation), where respect is taught for God, each other, animals, and the environment.”
“The second location opened on March 1st and is licensed for 81 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. It will be open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday year round. “I joined the chamber when I first opened Tomorrow's Promise Montessori School 25 years ago. At first, I didn't really attend or participate in many of the chamber events because I was so busy working in my business. Over the years I have realized what a mistake that was as I got more and more involved in the chamber. I have made so many friends and have grown personally and professionally from my chamber membership. The more you participate the more you get out of your membership!” For more information about Montessori education, the Children’s House, or enrollment visit www.tomorrowspromise.info or please call 936-439-0303 to schedule a tour.
