We pray for the church, the steward of God's mystery
and witness to resurrections of all kinds,
for peace, where conflict ravages,
love, where hatred reigns,
joy, where sorrow lingers,
feasting, where famine stalks,
and healing, where brokenness crushes.
AMEN
Message from Minister Margery Rossi
Greetings, South Church!

I am so excited to be here and look forward to meeting you all – hopefully this Sunday as we joyfully celebrate the season of Easter and May Day! I was particularly touched by your gracious welcome as I arrived or my first day in the office on Monday. Thank you to the creative chalker(s)!

Robin and I are working to get me all set up – in my office, as well as integrated into all the systems and accounts necessary. We’ve hit a few technological snags yesterday and today, but we are making steady progress.

I do not yet have a definitive schedule sorted out for standard office hours; it may take me a few weeks to determine what makes sense for work flow.

 For this week:
  • I will be in the office all day on Wednesday so that I can see the food pantry operation.
  • Thursday will be my sermon writing day at home.
  • Friday will be my day off.
  • Saturday, I will attend an all-day presbytery meeting, where it will be announced to Hudson River Presbytery by the Committee on Ministry that I am your new pastor!

It has been a long year. I look forward to Sunday, May 1, when we dance, sing, worship, break bread together and celebrate resurrection – Jesus’ and ours.

All are welcome to pitch in; Saturdays 10 - noon in the garden behind South.
Last call to reserve a Roots & Wings CSA share! Our partner, FABLE, is a farm and food hub, offering our members 18 weeks of local produce from organic farms in the Hudson Valley. Members pick up shares in the parking lot behind South on Sundays, 8:30 - 9:30 am. MORE
