Empowering Youth Through Outdoor Adventures

The Youth Backcountry Camp (YBCC) Partner Program, led by the Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA), provides transformative four-day wilderness experiences to local and regional youth who are often underrepresented in outdoor activities. By collaborating with non-profit, social-service, and youth-oriented organizations, the YBCC Program breaks down barriers—whether financial, cultural, or social—ensuring that all young individuals have access to outdoor education and recreation. Join us in fostering confidence and a deeper connection with nature by becoming a partner in the TRTA’s YBCC Program!

RESOURCES OF THE MONTH

National Summer Learning Association - Programs Toolkit 2024

Summer programs are vital to the message around National Summer Learning Week. Every year, we see excellent examples across the country demonstrating new and exciting practices to close the opportunity gap.

NSLA has gathered these resources to assist programs in shaping and strengthening their summer programs. Resources include archived webinars, tip sheets for providers, parents, and caregivers, and toolkits.

How Out-of-School Time Programs Collect and Use Data

High-quality out-of-school-time programs are looking for ways to get a better handle on their impact in areas including equity and long-term outcomes.

Assessing an organization’s efforts can be a first step to improving them. At youth programs, good data can mean better decisions on staff training, student activities, and other key matters. This report looks at how afterschool, summer, and other out-of-school-time (OST) programs gauge their work and impact.
