Message from the Mayor

Council’s Ramadan Street Festival held on Saturday 23 April was a huge success following a two year break. It was a great night spending time with many residents and visitors, as we all enjoyed each other’s company and the delicious food from many different parts of the world.

Council’s Delivery Program and Operational Plan are now on public exhibition for the community to view and comment on. The Delivery Program outlines practical strategic plans to improve infrastructure and services, support local sectors such as small business for jobs growth and more.

The Operational Plan is Council’s commitment to the community that outlines the projects and programs that will be undertaken over the next 12 months, as well as details of the annual budget, revenue policy, rates and fees and charges. I encourage you to review these documents and give your valuable feedback that will shape how Cumberland will look in the year ahead. To have your say visit the website.

On another note, Council is still on the lookout for members to join Council’s existing and new advisory committees. If you are someone who enjoys getting involved in community life by providing advice and recommendations on key Council topics or matters, then this opportunity is definitely something you will want to take part in. You can find out more or sign up to one of Council’s Committees by visiting Council's website.
