Scholastic Book Fair

Last week to shop!

Volunteers still needed

Scholastic Book Fair sales started last week with student sales for PM recess. Unfortunately, due to the snow days, we missed out on some of those sales. We are excited to have families join us this week during conferences to make up for those lost sales times!

COME SHOP AFTER SCHOOL ON CONFERENCE DAYS!

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students:

  • Shop with parents during the "Family Book Sale" times during conference week: Jan 23, 25, 26 from *12:20-4:00pm. Cash, credit card, personal check or eWallet accepted.

3rd grade students:

  • Students: Monday, Jan 22nd during the final afternoon recess. Cash or eWallet funds only.
  • Shop with parents during the "Family Book Sale" times during conference week: Jan 23, 25, 26 from *12:20-4:00pm. Cash, credit card, personal check or eWallet accepted.

4th and 5th grade students:

  • Shop with parents during the "Family Book Sale" times during conference week: Jan 23, 25, 26 from *12:20-4:00pm. Cash, credit card, personal check or eWallet accepted.

*The 12:20 start time for the Family Book Sales is the correct time. It was published incorrectly in last week's Bugle.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We still need to fill a few volunteer slots for the book fair – please use this link to sign up for a volunteer shift. It's easy, and training will be provided the day of your shift!

"SHELFIE" CHALLENGE

In honor of Book Fair, we’re running a “shelfie” challenge. What’s a shelfie, you ask? Well, it’s a picture of your student in front of a book shelf! It can be your book shelf at home, a book shelf at your favorite library branch, book store, etc.

Please post a picture of your student’s shelfie and tag us on Facebook or Instagram, or use #rockwellshelfie OR you can post your shelfie in the comments on our Facebook post.

BONUS: Every student who posts a shelfie will be entered into a random drawing to win a $50 Snapdoodle gift certificate!

**As we all know, cell-phones are not permitted at school, so please do not have your student try to capture a shelfie during school hours. If you’d like to snap a picture of your student during the book fair’s family sales (conference week), that’s fine. Just be very careful not to accidentally snap and post a picture of other students at the fair (privacy considerations).**

Reflections Art Contest Finalists

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school but in life.

CONGRATULATIONS to:

Rockwell's very own Mika C. and Zhile L., who have advanced to the state level!

There were 326 entries from 39 PTAs with each entry evaluated by independent judges. We are incredibly proud of all participants from Rockwell!

*All the artwork will be on display at the Lake Washington Resource Center until January 25.

4th/5th Grade

Parent Info Session

Tuesday, January 23 at 7:00pm

Mrs. Thome's Classroom

4th and 5th grade parents... join us this Tuesday, January 23rd at 7:00pm in Mrs. Thome’s classroom (not the gym or the portables) for the Rockwell Musical Information session!

All your burning questions about commitment, timing, logistics, etc. will be answered then. Parents who join us for that meeting will receive a link for early registration to the play (meaning those kiddos are guaranteed a spot in the play) AND be able to pick their committee first.

Early registration for the play will take place January 23-January 28. Open registration will run January 29-February 2.

Any questions, please email rockwellplay2024@gmail.com. Please email us if you cannot attend the meeting due to a schedule conflict.

Calling All Volunteers!

JANUARY Recess Wranglers Needed
