A Word from Art

Sermon Title: Living Free We Worship

Scripture: Romans 12:1-2

Paul says in Romans 12:1 that offering our bodies as a living sacrifice, one that is holy and pleasing to God, is our "true and proper" worship. This Sunday we will zero-in on worship. But it probably won't be the "worship" that you might expect. This worship won't necessarily involve your favorite song or some thought provoking video. The worship that we will focus on this Sunday is our obedience. As the prophet Samuel tells King Saul, "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord?  To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Join us this Sunday as we discover that if we truly want to worship the Lord, we need to offer Him up our simple obedience.

Toilet Paper / Paper Towel Drive - We've designated January to support our mission partner by providing household staples for their Pantry to give to students. Help us reach this goal!

We’re super excited to launch a new Bible study and outreach effort called The Great Eight Café starting this Friday, Jan. 19, at 11:30 a.m.

The Great Eight Café will give all of us an opportunity to invite friends, coworkers and maybe even that one person we’re praying for who needs Jesus to explore life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting—with a free lunch in the bargain.

The Great Eight Café will be open for eight consecutive Fridays—from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The eight-week series will kick off with an in-depth look at the life of Joseph and the hardships he endured on the way to a life of great achievement.

“This is a great opportunity for us to dig even deeper into the Bible and to reach out to those around us who are searching for meaningful relationships and Godly insight,” Art said. “I hope our church family will get excited about this effort and use it as an opportunity to invite others to walk one step closer to Jesus in their daily lives.”

Connecting with and ministry at MC3

MC3’s New Beginnings class will kick off Sunday, Jan. 21, at 9:30 a.m. in the new downstairs meeting room at the church.

New Beginnings is an eight-week class to help you and your family learn more about the church and how you can connect with God and ministry at MC3. More importantly, it’s a great way to help you fulfill your relationship with the Lord.

To help us prepare for the class, please email or call Jim Barber at 404-268-6981 if you plan to attend.
