Memorial Day is a our nation's day dedicated to reflection on the ultimate sacrifice given by members of our Armed Services. We pray especially for our Gold Star Families mourning their loved ones but also all the men and women who gave the last full measure of devotion to their country. While we remember the fallen, I hope you are also able to spend some restful time with loved ones.
In honor of Memorial Day we will be forgoing this week's Election Integrity call. We will be having our final call next Friday, June 4th. I hope you've learned a lot from these calls and found them helpful in your advocacy. I look forward to speaking with you again next Friday and hopefully we will have some good news on legislative progress to discuss.

The legislative session is coming to an end and I have enjoyed spending our Friday mornings together. Our final call for the session will be on June 4th. Once redistricting work starts in the fall, I plan to start our weekly calls again, so keep an eye on your emails for more details on that! "The Republican National Committee (RNC), aiming to win back majorities in the House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections, is giving the GOP’s congressional reelection arms some major fundraising infusions.
"This week the RNC transferred $5 million to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), Fox News was first to report on Tuesday. The move by the RNC follows a $5 million transfer earlier this month to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

"The RNC says that the combined $10 million is more than they've ever transferred to the House and Senate committees in an off-election year.
"'This early investment is a testament to the strong partnership between the RNC, NRCC and NRSC and a stand against the compounding failures of the Biden administration and national Democrats,' RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told Fox News in a statement.
"'With crises at our borders, in our neighborhoods and abroad, Americans are rejecting Biden and Democrats’ failed policies and turning toward Republicans’ America-first agenda,' McDaniel charged. 'The RNC, NRCC and NRSC are unified in our efforts to take back the House and Senate in 2022 and to get Congress back to work for the American people.'"

Under Joe Biden, Higher Taxes and Higher Prices for Every American
True to form for a far-left Democrat politician, Joe Biden wants to spend even more of your money on frivolous government programs. Just months into his presidency, Joe Biden has already proposed over $3 trillion in tax increases – the largest proposed tax hike in recent history. But that’s not all – if Biden gets his way, hardworking American taxpayers will eventually foot the bill for over $6 trillion of Biden’s liberal, big government spending.
What you need to know:
- Joe Biden’s radical policies are threatening to halt the economic recovery.

The third part of Biden’s American Bankruptcy Plan will cost taxpayers $1.8 trillion, but it’s estimated to far outspend forecasts – a new study projects the plan will cost $700 billion more than advertised.
- Biden’s American Bankruptcy Plan would:

Raise the top personal income tax rate from 37 to 39.6%.

Increase the top capital gains tax rate to 39.6% (43.4% with investment tax added). This rate is higher than the rate in communist China and would make the capital gains rate the highest in a century for many. Higher taxes would slow economic growth, discourage investment, and kill job creation.

Expand the 3.8% Medicare tax, which Biden himself dodged to escape $500,000 in taxes.

Repeal step-up in basis, essentially a “second death tax” on many small businesses and families. Repealing this statute would kill family farms and family-run businesses across the country. After the death of a loved one, many heirs would be forced to shut down their farm or business – just to cover a tax bill.

Biden’s plan would actually shrink the economy, reduce private investment, and reduce American workers’ hours.
- Inflation across all sectors of the economy is a “hidden tax” on lower income and middle class Americans.
- Americans are being forced to make sacrifices to accommodate higher prices on the everyday goods they buy.

Biden also wants to flood the IRS with $80 billion in new funding – a proposal even the IRS’s former Commissioner thinks would be overkill.

Biden’s IRS on steroids would “create new headaches for banks, financial institutions, and anyone who uses them.”

The plan would “require banks and other third-parties to report more information on taxpayers.”

Under the Obama-Biden administration, the IRS admitted to targeting conservative groups. Now, Biden wants to increase the power of unelected bureaucrats to collect huge amounts of additional information. An all-powerful IRS would threaten the civil liberties and privacy rights of every American.
The bottom line:
Biden inherited a robust economic recovery from President Trump and a Republican Congress. But now, with his radical taxation and spending proposals, the recovery is slowing and inflation fears are rising. Sadly, Biden’s policies are leading to failure after failure and crisis after crisis. Time and time again, Republican policies of lower taxes and deregulation have succeeded in growing the economy and raising wages. Biden and Harris’ liberal policies will do the opposite: tax increases, higher prices, and trillions in new liberal, big government spending.
