Truths
It’s Women’s History Month!
How it Started
How it's Going
Ruth Bader Ginsberg reminded us that women belong in all places where decisions are made. Women’s History Month kicked off on Tuesday, and that same night, we saw a historic first as two women, Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, stood behind the President for the State of the Union address.

Setser Group wants to celebrate women's remarkable achievements and leadership. We are recognizing the amazing women on our team and in our orbit. Their expertise, leadership, guidance, dedication, and sheer brilliance have taken Setser Group to where it is today.

"As we enter Women's [Her]story Month, it's clear that more of the workforce, but especially women, are rethinking their relationship with work. Innovative, people-first employers know that creating family-friendly, flexible workplaces which help employees balance work with their personal lives create stronger, better organizations for everyone."

"I love that work is becoming more dynamic than when I entered the workforce more than 10 years ago. I distinctly remember sitting at my desk in a windowless area of the office, frustrated with the expectation that I sit in my cubicle for hours on end. Fast forward to today, and people are creating unique ways of working that make space for the employee and employer to succeed - and I love it!"

Now more than ever, I’m encouraged by this opportunity to lean in to my natural posture of collaboration over competition and to fill conventional power gaps with mindsets and skillsets that allow men and women alike to connect and thrive in the workplace and the world. Resilience, agility, adaptability, connection--the future of work requires each and inspires me to interrogate my path with new eyes focused on greater impact and influence together.”
Tracy Curry
Senior Consultant - People and Organizational Development
When I consider the future of work, two things come to mind. First, the future has arrived; second it is without borders and/or boxes. Workplaces that focus on putting people first in a meaningful way will thrive. From my own experience, now more than ever it feels more than tolerated to show up at work authentically as my whole self. The borders I once put around my person are greatly reduced. The nature of the pandemic has also forced the globe to reconsider where and when work has to occur. Last, within work teams, there is also a shift to moving from organizational silos and generalization to highly collaborative, integrated models where specialized skills can be leveraged and exposed to broader workstreams. In all ways, we are working outside of the box and without borders; to me this is exciting!”

“Two things that make a fundamental difference in the lives of women and girls everywhere are education and the ability to earn an income. I have found that the two go hand in hand. As an educator, I do believe that education is insufficient to change the status quo. The income piece for me is mission-critical because education may give women a voice, it's really the income piece that gives women a choice.”

Triumphs
This week marks a transition from Black History Month to Women’s History Month, and we would like to give a shout-out to New York state for opening the Sojourner Truth State Park in Kingston this week. Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson is set to become the first Black woman on the Court, shattering another glass ceiling.

We salute the leadership and contributions of all women today. When you succeed, everyone succeeds. Thank you!
