CESSRST Weekly Announcements is a new initiative to keep CESSRST Fellows and Advisors/Mentors up to date on important programmatic deadlines, memos, and opportunities including internships, NERTOs, and NOAA jobs.
2022 Earth Day Highlights
  • NOAA EPP/MSI CESSRST Fellows Timothy Media, Jessica Chen, Naved Khan, and Sarah Maria Dos Santos along with the Center Management celebrated Earth Day at the Red Hook Farm. They engaged in activities like painting benches and composting to contribute toward community development.

Important Memo
  • NOAA CESSRST is recruiting undergraduate and graduate students for the 2022 Summer Bridge Program. This is an 8-week program (June 16, 2022- August 10, 2022) funded by NOAA CESSRST. Applications are now open and will be reviewed as they come in. Students will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled or until May 15, 2022, which is the final deadline for submission. Apply Here.

2022 NOAA Cooperative Research Programs (CoRP) Science Symposium
  • The event will be held from July 25th to 27th, 2022 at the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) of Colorado State University located in Fort Collins, CO
  • Pre-register for this event by using this link. Password has been sent to fellows via the CESSRST email. This is an event by invitation only, thus do not share the password with anyone else.
  • Fellows must submit the travel requisition form and contact CESSRST Budget Office i.e. Claudia Solano Rodriguez at cessrstpayments@ccny.cuny.edu for travel advances.
  • Fellows are required to stay in one of the hotels identified by the symposium organizers.
  • Fellows who attended the NOAA EPP/MSI 10th Biennial Education and Science forum can re-use their poster/presentation for this event. CESSRST fellows who will be conducting their NERTO internships (virtual/hybrid) in July 2022 are encouraged to participate.

2022 NOAA CESSRST Annual Colloquium
  • The event will be held from July 28th to 29th, 2022, right after the 2022 NOAA Cooperative Research Programs (CoRP) Science Symposium in Fort Collins, CO, and in the NOAA ESRL lab in Boulder, CO.
  • Fellows may use the same hotel reservations and extend their stay until July 29th, 2022.
  • More details will be provided soon.
 
2022 SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference
  • The event will be held from October 27th to 29th, 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
