Health Protocols
On May 27 updated protocols were put into place for the district. CLICK HERE to see the employee handbook that outlines these protocols.

We're optimistic that these protocols will be very similar to what is implemented for the 2021-22 school year. However, it's important to note that in the situation that cases rise, we could need to reimplement some of our previous protocols, including required masking.

In addition, the district is no longer sending daily "exposure notifications." Every Monday the following website will be updated with the number of cases in district: https://www.republicschools.org/healthupdates.
SISK12 Changing Teacher Format to 360 Beginning July 1
We've been informed by SISK12 that they will be changing the format for teacher accounts only starting July 1, 2021. This new format is called "360." All other accounts (administration, secretary, etc.) will continue using "classic" view, for now.
SISK12 360 has all of the same resources as the current, "classic" view, but the format looks a bit differently. Although the required change begins on July 1, you're able to preview 360 now to get a feel for the new format. To do this, simply choose the "360 Login" option on the SISK12 login screen as identified in the graphic.

Support and training from our Educational Technology Specialists will be implemented during back to school meetings in the fall for all teachers. Secondary teachers will get a preview during May faculty meetings. The goal is to provide supports to ensure a smooth transition to this new format.

Helping One of our Own
Lyon Elementary Music Teacher, Sonia Alexander suffered a stroke in early June leaving her unable to speak and unable to move the right side of her body. Doctors are indicating the road to recovery will be a long one, which indicates financial needs will be significant for the foreseeable future.

Sonia will be in intensive in-patient rehab for three weeks, followed by many more months of recovery work at home. Her husband will be unable to work in order to care for her, and her two sons are in college.

Sonia's friends and family have set-up a GoFundMe account for anyone who would like to contribute to the financial needs of her family. CLICK HERE TO DONATE

Jordan Valley School Based Clinic Coming this Fall!
Republic School District is excited to announce a school based health clinic partnership with Jordan Valley Health Centers that will kick-off for the 2021-22 school year!

We will begin the school year with one Jordan Valley community health worker available to work with our school nurses to coordinate a virtual visit with a Jordan Valley doctor or nurse practitioner for any student or employee that is sick and needs to be seen by a practitioner for the following illnesses: strep throat, ear infection, sinus infection, rash, pink eye, stomach flu, bug bites, lice and congestion. After being seen by a provider the student/employee will be able to return to class/work OR they will be given a diagnosis and will be ready to go home. If necessary, the practitioner will call in a prescription to the patient's pharmacy for them to pay for and pick-up.

This partnership is made possible primarily by funds provided by Jordan Valley Health Centers. Beyond office space for the onsite community health worker, this program has no other financial obligations for the district. Parents and employees will never receive a bill for care. If the patient has insurance, that insurance will receive the bill. If the patient does not have insurance, Jordan Valley Health Centers covers the cost of the visit and patients only have to pay for prescriptions, when needed.

This service will be optional, but available to all students and employees. Information on how to register and also additional details about the program will be shared in July with back to school information. We're excited and thankful for this opportunity to partner with Jordan Valley Health Centers!

The Food Service, Special Education and Federal Programs departments will be available via phone and email only June 28-July 2 as their physical offices will be closed during this time for annual maintenance updates.

Switching from Impero to GoGuardian
GoGuardian is a monitoring program will take the place of Impero for the 21-22 school year. This K-12 program will allow teachers to monitor students during stations and other times during independent practice to help keep them on track. This also allows the teacher to broadcast their screen so students can follow along during small and whole group lessons.

One big advantage to this program over other options is the ease-of-use platform. With minimal training required, teachers can use the program fairly easily. Click on the image to watch a video summarizing this product. In addition, Ed Techs will be providing support as the school year approaches/begins.
