All are invited to tune into a brief Facebook Live event each Wednesday at 5:00 pm. If you have prayer requests that you would like lifted up, you can type them into the comments section of the FB Live event or you can email them to Pastor Jeff at revjmarkay@earthlink.net.
Youth & Kids News
Last Sunday, the Senior Youth class studying the art of John August Swanson found his depiction and interpretation of the Last Supper to be enlightening and thought provoking. Some agreed it was the best one yet!
Sunday School welcomes new friends of all ages to join our active groups during Lent as we prepare our hearts and lives for the great miracle of Easter. Zoom log-in info for the following online classes will be emailed at the end of each week. If you would like to be added to the distribution group or have questions about which class is right for your children, please email Karen at youthchatumc@optonline.net.

PreK / Early Elementary - Sundays at 9:30am on Zoom. Each Sunday in Lent we are learning about a different event from Holy Week. We continue to count down the days til Easter with our Lenten Calendar Chains. As our chains get longer, so will the days! This week in class we’ll continue work on our prayer sheets, reviewing our prayers of praise, confession, thanksgiving, intercession, and adding a prayer of petition. We’ll also talk about the difficult story of The Good Friday with all its moments of teasing, bullying, betrayal, loss, physical pain – proof that Jesus understands the worst of anything we may go through. And we’ll learn that God’s power and grace are bigger than anything – even death.

Submerge (4th-8th grade) - Sundays at 10:30am on Zoom. We continue our deeper dive into Lent and the events of Holy Week to prepare ourselves for the real joy of Easter. This week, Bibles in hand, we’ll explore the story of Arrest and Peter’s Denial. God knows we all will falter in faith; we will sometimes do the wrong thing out of fear. When this happens, we can ask God for forgiveness and promise to do better and grow in our faith. The good news is that God knows our hearts and will forgive us.

High School Discussion - Sundays at 11:45am on Zoom. For the six weeks in Lent we are working with What Wondrous Love which presents key scriptures and events in the story of Holy Week through the art of John August Swanson. This week’s artwork: Kiss of Judas, based on the account from Luke 22. Despite its themes of betrayal and violence, can this be a hopeful story?
