Waste and Recycling

Bag tag program

Residents can place up to two bags or containers/items out for pickup every other week on their regularly scheduled collection days. Any additional waste requires a bag tag. Residents can put up to five bags/items of garbage out, two free and three paid. Bag tags are available at retail locations throughout Georgina, as well as at the Civic Centre and all three branches of Georgina Public Library. Note that not all retailers sell the large item tags. Tags are now $2 each and are being sold in groups of five for $10. Previously purchased bag tags remain valid and can be used. The Town now has a $12 fee for large items such as furniture, mattresses, box springs, toilets, appliances and carpeting.
