Dear Parents and Guardians,
As a follow up to the letter we sent on Tuesday afternoon, the goal of our assembly tomorrow is to educate our students on the Catholic teaching on “Life and Dignity of the Human Person," a central theme of all Catholic social teaching. This is a topic we teach in our Religion classes here at Riordan. The assembly is an opportunity to come together respectfully in order to learn more about the dignity of human life. We recognize that members of our school community, whether they are Catholic or not, have different viewpoints on this topic. As an institution of learning, we appreciate different views and even though we may disagree, it is important that we listen to all viewpoints.
Our presenter, Ms. Megan Almon, will discuss the Life and Dignity of the Human Person, and use both science and philosophy to define the Catholic position. Ms. Almon will be temperate and considerate in her delivery, mindful of the current climate of this topic.
After the assembly, if a student expresses any anxiety or discomfort about what they heard, they should reach out to their Counselor, our staff in Campus Ministry, or another trusted adult.
The intention behind the assembly is to promote thought and perhaps even discussion. Our job as educators is to walk with our students during their learning journey and this assembly is a part of that journey for them and our school community.
Sincerely,
Mr. Tim Reardon
Interim President

KAIROS #104
We present the participants of the first ever, in-person coed KAIROS retreat in Riordan history! The retreat comes at over a year and a half of student life disrupted, so the experience was compounded by being able to disconnect from technology, be in community for four days, and allowing time and space for students to grow closer with their friends, their families, and God. This is a truly blessed way to celebrate years of the KAIROS tradition at Riordan.
Please encourage your sons and daughters to join the next KAIROS retreats by clicking here to sign up: Winter (Feb. 1-4, 2022) or Spring (March 15-18, 2022)
Fall Sophomore Retreat
Sophomores experienced their very first overnight retreat with us at the YMCA in the Marin Headlands. They enjoyed this unique experience to the fullest as they began to explore their own gifts and talents in order to return with inspiration to be leaders. Another amazing first divisional coed retreat to celebrate!
We have one more Sophomore retreat next semester; more info will be announced later.

Bell Schedule Survey for Parents
As our school continues to grow and evolve, we are reviewing our current 4x4 bell schedule to ensure it meets the needs of our students, teachers and families. We are also surveying students and teachers.
Our current 4x4 schedule has students meet for 70 minutes a day, every day for 1 semester, which counts for 1 year's course work. Please take 5 minutes to answer this short anonymous survey on our current bell schedule. If you are the parent.guardian of more than one Crusader, please fill it out once for each child.
