Welcome to Quilting News
May 2022
Message from Lisa
Welcome to May and hopefully a steady warmer weather for this month.

Well after waiting 6 weeks for Gammill to schedule my repair person, he came last week and got me back up and in quilting mode again. So I'm working through my list as quickly as possible. I have already completed the Urgent ones and now I'm working down my list for folks. So I will call you when I have your quilts ready. Hopefully it won't be long before you hear from me.

Since I have been idle for a few weeks, I have been working on a few projects for classes and things we can do together. So check out below for details.

I'm sure May will fly by quickly as all the first 4 months have but I do have a road trip scheduled for this Saturday, May, 7th to Mill Stone. They are having their outside quilt show and food along with a sale in the shop. Anyone who wants to go with me just send me a text or call me. I will leave my Studio at 9 AM on Saturday to get there and get a parking spot. The shop opens at 10AM.

Well, I hope to see you around the studio soon. Daycare has been busy again and needless to say I'm working hard on over 45 quilts I have in the studio. Thanks again to my customers for their support all year round. Quilting friends are the BEST you can have!

So until you see me in person, Keep on sewing and I will see you soon.

Lisa

Millstone Quilt Shop Roadtrip
Saturday, May 7th - Millstone Quilt Shop is having their out door quilt display with food and a sale in the shop. This is a fun day to see her customer's quilts displayed around the grounds and have some great food and restock on your supply of material if you are missing anything. Parking is limited, so let's try to carpool if we can. I can meet people at Joann's in Midlothian if you want to go. Just text or call me so I don't leave anyone behind.
What do you have new on your machine?
Well, I just loved what Jean Roop and Mary Ellen Carhart were working on at retreat. These are paper pieced blocks that finish at 3 inches. Yes, I can get smaller. This is 365 blocks for the year of 2022. I think that the deadline for signing up has ended. But I have had so much fun taking my scrap boxes and using my small scraps to make these fun blocks. I didn't have to buy any fabric. But maybe for the sashing. I have my first few weeks completed and I'm willing to share if you would like to do a few of them. Just contact me about how to get those.
West Virginia Quilt Show
LAST CALL FOR SPOTS LEFT!!!
I have been told this Quilt Show in Springfield, West Virginia is one of the best. There just happens to be a wonderful fabric store there also called "The Quilt Shoppe". I have rented another Event House near the show and 10 ladies are traveling there and back from June 14-18th. We still have space for 2 more people. But this is your last chance to participate. I need to hear from you ASAP. I don't want you to miss out on another wonderful trip.
Stained Glass Log Cabin Class
I have wanted to make this quilt for a long time now. Well, I finally got around to it and it was soo much fun and easy. YES I said easy. So I will offer this class on Saturday, May 21st from 9 to 4 pm. Cost for the class is $25.00 and when I get your payment I will give you cutting instructions. I used 3 Jelly rolls for making mine and then added the borders. You choose your own colors. Join us!
Snappy Squares Quilt
I had this class with Augusta Cole back when I first started my business. I made my first one with all Civil War Reproductions. While I was idle, I found I had lots of scraps in my batik baskets, so I decided to make another one in Bright Colors. So If you ever wanted to make this quilt now is the time. Just contact me and we will set up a date to make one for yourself. You can make it truly all scrappy or pick your fabrics you want. I added a polka dot in my white section and just had fun with the rest. Just text or call me. We will set a date.
"4th of July" Cookout
We will be having our Cookout for the 4th on Thursday, July 7th this year. I'm taking my birthday week off (FYI). So I will cook the hotdogs on the grill and you bring a SMALL dish to share with the ladies! We just love eating and sewing around here! Wear your Red, White and Blue for the day!
"Sip and Sew"
We had so much fun at our last one, I thought we might have another one. So mark your calendar for Saturday, July 23rd and I will provide the drinks and you just bring a snack to share with your friends. We might just get a little sewing done that day, but probably more sipping....
Wool Group Gathering
I know I have several customers who like to do Wool projects. I am asking to see if there is an interest to have a monthly Wool Day here in the Studio? I would need to hear from several of you if this would help you have a spot to share your skills or just work on a different project in WOOL. So I'm open to have a Wool Day for you if you would like. I like to dabble in it often, but need more motivation from folks. So let me know if you are and we will try to set a day during the month for this gathering. Thanks.
Quilters Daycare Group
Quilter's Daycare is a Thursday sew group. We have more ladies joining us. So please make sure that you slide over and make room for everyone that wants to sew. We will have an overflow room in my old office if you would feel more comfortable in there away from the larger group. We want everyone to feel welcome and we have missed many of you. Your $5 covers your seat charge each Thursday. See you soon! Reminder the door opens at 9 am.
Prayer Box for my customers
I have many of my customers who have recently had medical or family health issues arise or just traveling mercies. So I hope you don't mind if I share a few. I know there is a long list, but many of my friends are prayer worriers and I think we could all use a little extra help about now. So I'm sorry in advance if I leave anyone out, but I try to keep up with everyone of you.

Georgette and her husband, Merci Kessler, Delma Kemmet, Cathy Wells and husband, Cindy Moser, Jeanette Reames, Teri Donnelly and family, Midge and Mike traveling to Vegas, Bonnie Butz and Brian Medsker for their journey to Idaho, Katina Powell and family, Kathy Dobrick, Linda Thompson and husband and family, Brenda Shorty, and my Mom. I know there might be others, so please reach out to me so I can write them down.

Praying for each of these listed for God to touch and heal their needs in specials ways. AMEN.
Thank You!
I now offer payment through Zelle (which is from your bank to mine) or VENMO. If you use one of these payments types, you can now pay me directly. Just inquire and I can give you my account info.

Please continue to bring a bag with your project when leaving it for quilting services!

See you soon! Trixie and Lisa
