APF Welcomes New Board Members
We welcome Anna Khan and Saleem Ahmad to the APF Board of Directors.
Anna Khan is a General Partner at Charles River Ventures. She previously spent five years at Bessemer Venture Partners investing across the software ecosystem. She is also the Founder and CEO of Launch X, an accelerator helping female founders learn how to raise capital for business. Anna graduated with Honors from Stanford University and received her MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. Read More
Saleem Ahmad is a Senior Managing Director at Afiniti, world’s largest applied artificial intelligence company. He is Co-Founder and Partner at 47 Ventures, the first international venture capital firm focused on Pakistan. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board at National Incubation Center at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He earned degrees from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business, London School of Economics, and LUMS. Read More

In our new video series, APF Research Spotlight, we introduce academics in our communities who are at cutting-edge of research and practice in their disciplines. Academics of Pakistani descent in the United States play a vital role in building intellectual bridges and creating research partnerships between Americans and Pakistanis. From quantum physics to biomedical engineering and political science, this series sheds light on the immense intellectual capacity and contributions of our communities.

Get Smart on Vaccinations

APF created resources in English and Urdu with critical information about vaccine availability and effectiveness. These materials are being distributed in order to ensure our community is making informed decisions about the vaccine and working to keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe and healthy. Please share this information with your loved ones.

APF Board Member Dr. Syra Madad published the essay "Why Are So Many of My Fellow Health Workers Unvaccinated?" in The New York Times. Dr. Madad is the senior director of systemwide special pathogens for NYC Health + Hospitals, the nation’s largest public health care system.

Babar Ahmed's Tikkun Olam at Filmfest DC

Tikkun Olam (2021) is a short film based in Washington, D.C. about the encounter of an eight year old boy and a homeless veteran. The film was inspired by writer and director, Bob Ahmed's personal experiences, while living in the city. Get Your Free Ticket

This was just another in a list of chronic issues he has dealt with since contracting COVID-19 earlier this year.
