Cooper CAN hosted the Cooper GO Pantry Student Ambassador district competition the week before spring break. This competition was between Ryle, Boone, Beechwood, & Cooper. Cooper won the competition with collecting nearly 2,000 items! The 2nd highest score was Beechwood w/ 855.

Congrats to Morgan Brown, who won the national merit community service award, with 28 hours of service this year.


Congrats to Emily Wolf, who won the national gold community service award, with 119 hours of service this year. In addition, won the gold Kroger Zero Hunger Zero Waste service award.

The Boone County School Board officially approved May 20th as the last day of school for students.

End of Year Testing  

 

Our end of the year testing will begin in May! 

 

Testing depends on the grade level and/or specific courses. For specific dates, please see the testing calendar link at the bottom. 

 

The following tests will be administered:


  • AP Testing:  Students enrolled in AP courses are strongly encouraged to take the AP exam for possible college credit, May 2nd-13th.
  • State Test in Reading: all 10th grade students on Wednesday, May 4th
  • State Test in Math: all 10th grade students on Thursday, May 5th 
  • State Test in Science and Social Studies:  all 11th grade students on Wednesday, May 4th
  • State Test in Editing/Mechanics and On-Demand Writing Test:  all 11th grade students on Thursday, May 5th


Please note: Sophomores and Juniors must use a school issued Chromebook to take the State Test. Students are expected to bring their school issued Chromebook AND charger to school on both days.

The Cooper High School Athletic Department is hosting an Athletic Signing Day on Tuesday, May 3rd, 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium for any current graduate that has committed to play at the collegiate level.

SBDM Parent Election

Our SBDM Parent Election will take place on Tuesday, May 10th, all day in the main office as well as during the Undergraduate Awards from 5:30-8:30 p.m. 

Summer Food Boxes


Summer food boxes will be available via Go Pantry for the months of June and July. Each month you will receive 3 boxes, 6 boxes for the total for the summer. If you are interested in picking up boxes please click the link and fill out the google form by Thursday, April 28th. Boxes will be available for pick up on Friday’s only unless you contact the Youth Service Center Coordinator directly via email ben.brown@boone.kyschools.us or phone (859) 384-5322.

PTSO Board


Attention Parents/Guardians: PTSO is looking for volunteers to serve in various positions for their Board for this upcoming year. They also are interested in having a parent volunteer oversee the Annual Craft Fair. You do not have to be a member of the PTSO for this position. PTSO is a very valuable organization within the Cooper community. Please consider serving with several others who make Cooper a great place to be. Please contact Amy Knight at ptso.cooper@gmail.com if interested.

Kings Island Trip for Seniors-Chaperones Needed



The Senior class is looking for chaperones for the upcoming Senior Class Trip to Kings Island on Thursday, May 19. Chaperones would need to arrive at 8:30 am and would return to Cooper by 7 pm.

Summer Enrichment Opportunities


Each credit course costs $150; that expense is non-refundable and will be collected before the course begins. There are limited seats available for each course, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students will be contacted if they are accepted and fee information will be provided. 


Health Education (1/2 credit) and Physical Education (1/2 credit) - students may register for one or both courses.

Teacher Appreciation Week


Parents it is that time of year again and Student Leadership Council needs your help in gathering items to celebrate our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6. Volleyball Camp 2022 


Head Coach Michelle Isaac of Cooper High School, will conduct a volleyball camp this summer. Her coaching staff, college athletes, and several of the current players will serve as camp instructors. The camp will teach the fundamentals of the game of volleyball, team play, individual instruction, and competition.

When: July 12, 13 and 14  Time: 5pm-8pm

Cost: $50 per player (sibling discount available)
