Virtual Town Hall

Join us for a Virtual Town Hall on May 19th, starting at 6:30 PM. Mr. Orlando will be sharing some information about planning for the 2021-22 Academic year. We hope you can join us!

Middle School Vaccination Clinic

We are partnering with the Blue Ridge Health District to offer a student clinic this upcoming Tuesday, May 18th from 9:30-12 at Peabody School. This clinic is for students 12 years and older. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered by trained vaccinators from the BRHD. Middle School parents can check their email or contact Nurse Tara for more details.
New CDC Mask Guidance

The new CDC guidance on masking was released yesterday allowing fully vaccinated individuals to stop wearing masks in most settings. The CDC has not updated its school safety guidance, however. Until we can truly understand the new guidance as it pertains to schools, we will continue to ask our fully vaccinated staff to wear masks. We will update the community as necessary.
Middle School Outdoor Movie Night!

Student Government will be hosting a movie night on May 21, 2021. They will be showing Ferris Bueller's Day Off on the Peabody field. Arrival starts at 7:00 and the movie will start at 7:30pm.

Please fill out the RSVP BEFORE Monday, May 17th, so we can adequately plan for the event, even if your child is not going.

The event is free and concessions for a small fee will be available as well. COVID protocols will be in place including physical distancing, mask-wearing during transitions, and hand washing/sanitizing.

We hope you can join us!
Middle School Final Exam Schedule

Middle School exams will be held the week of May 31, 2021, from 8:45-10:45 AM on the following days:

Tuesday, June 1st: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry (No Pre-Algebra)
Wednesday, June 2nd: World Language
Thursday, June 3rd: 8th Grade Biology Only

Each teacher will provide specific details to their classes.
The Last Day of School is June 3rd

We are happy to be planning an in-person graduation ceremony for our 8th Graders on June 4th! Typically, we hold a promotion ceremony after graduation that involves our entire community. Due to health/safety restrictions, we will be unable to conduct the promotion ceremony this year for students in Grades PreK-7. Therefore, June 3rd will be the last day of school for students in grades PreK-7. We look forward to celebrating with everyone again soon!

2020-21 Annual Fund

Your participation in the Peabody Annual Fund provides essential operating support to Peabody. The generosity of our community supports almost everything that keeps Peabody running, from salaries and classroom technology to arts and supplies. This year, we are also faced with increased expenses for items such as technology infrastructure upgrades, outdoor learning spaces, additional cleaning supplies and protective equipment, and additional aid to Peabody students and families who felt the financial impact of COVID-19. We hope that you will support Peabody in this area and that you will keep in mind that your Annual Fund gift, of any size, really matters to the school.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of a gift to Peabody School for the 2020-21 year and for being such strong supporters of our wonderful school!
