Sunapee Happenings
Winters are long here in New Hampshire, so forgive us for how excited we get about SPRING! One sure sign of spring is the first evening we hear a serenade of the Peepers in a joyous celebration of the season… and sing they did last night… boisterously. Check this link for a story of these nocturnal singing amphibians.

It’s an unmistakable sound. One that elicits memories, sights and scents of events long ago. It recalls the joy of youth, the possibility of a spring…
Easter Events
This coming weekend families gather together in observation of the traditions of Easter and Passover. As "Peter Cottontail comes hopping down the bunny trail” kids will be searching for colorful eggs and treats.

Saturday, at noon, Sunapee Recreation Department invites kids 10 and younger, to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Sunapee Harbor.

Cue the Music
Cormac McCarthy takes the stage at the Sunapee Coffeehouse on Friday.

Cormac McCarthy is regarded by fellow musicians and fans alike as one of New England’s finest songwriters. He writes and sings of a heartfelt, sometimes funny, sometimes desperate, sometimes glorious world of common people, struggles, hope, relationships, madness, and love. He sings the poetry of real life with a silky baritone voice and just enough grit.

Hidden Treasures of the Northern Rail Trail

Charley Freiberg is a commercial photographer who lives in Wilmot, NH. He has been doing historical preservation photography for nearly 20 years, and photographed all the man-made structures along the Northern Rail Trail several years ago.

In his presentation he will discuss and share his photographs of the stonework of the Northern Rail Trail, much of which is hidden from the casual observer along the trail.

AN ILIAD
April 14, 2022 - May 1, 2022

AN ILIAD is a modern-day retelling of Homer’s classic. Poetry and humor, the ancient tale of the Trojan War and the modern world collide in this captivating theatrical experience. The setting is simple: the empty theatre. The time is now: the present moment. The lone figure onstage is a storyteller - possibly Homer, possibly one of the many bards who followed in his footsteps. He is fated to tell this story throughout history.

Sunapee Trivia
How many islands does Lake Sunapee contain? Well - not such an easy answer... especially if it wasn't a choice! 11 islands according to the LSPA and
13 islands according to locals. The islands include: Great, Little, Star, Emerald, Pine Isle, Penny, Twin (2), Loon (2), Elizabeth (2), and Minute Island. How did we do? 18% voted for 4 Islands, 36% for 9 Islands and 45% for 11 Islands. Perhaps this next question will be more straight forward?
