Hello First Branch!

Hello First Branch,

Happy weekend to all! We know the mud has made this week tricky. Many thanks to all our families for making it work and getting students to school. We are working with bus company on routes for Monday and will share as soon as we have confirmation.

In addition, we want to thank all our families, faculty staff, and students for working with us on an emergency need related to transportation midweek. While we can only share some of the details with our school community. We can share, we worked closely with Windsor County Sheriff's Department, the WRVSU Central Office, mental health agencies, and families related to the immediate concern.

We can share today that late Thursday evening, with the help of parents, we were able to confirm the two small-caliber bullets were not bullets from a weapon but from a machine used for concrete work. This was also confirmed by the Windsor County Sheriff's Department. Nevertheless, our protocol would have been the same in conferencing with the Windsor County Sheriff's Department. It is essential to speak with your students that only items related to school should be brought to school. This is outlined in our First Branch Handbook. All other items need to stay at home. This is also a good time to check locks on sheds, and cabinets.

Please remember on Thursday, 3/14, TCS will host We R Hope, an organization supporting community in youth and family mental health. The topic for the event is "Mental Health Literacy," and is designed for all families ages Prek-12th grade. Come join us for dinner, free childcare, and a night of learning. This program is made possible by the community+ schools grant.

Finally, March is the season for parent-teacher-student conferences. Please see the signup document to access signup opportunities for Spring conferences. If you need support scheduling a conference, don't hesitate to contact your classroom teacher for TCS or CPS advisory teacher. The main offices in both buildings can also help.

Be Well,
